Is delivery time in California different?

I'm in SoCal. My dealer insists that it will take 2 weeks for the car to arrive.
I saw another post from the guy from San Diego that got similar delivery time estimation.
But everybody else on the forum tells completely different story........
I don't understand where this discrepancy is coming from.....

Ford.com currently estimates delivery times at 20+ weeks to 28+ weeks. I don't believe the arrival times are much different for California.

I mean shipping time. Time between the day the car is shipped and delivered to the dealership

Probably is slightly longer to CA as the cars come from Mexico City through Kansas City (Kansas City Southern Railways) so it is longer to CA than most other parts of the US. Shouldn't be considerably longer though. In February, my car took quite a while to get here, but most of that time was on the first leg of the rail journey.

So why the dealers say that it takes 2 weeks.

Because they really don't know (especially in these days of unknown transportation issues) and just quote something to appease your need for an answer.

but they have been receiving those machs all the time. Yesterday he showed me the one they received just that morning. He said that his estimation is based on his experience

Where in CA are you?
Maybe its 2 weeks if they go from MX -> KC -> CA Rail Yard you're next to without any trucking delays etc. but still doubtful from all of the data points i've seen on here + when i stalk other people's VIN that are being delivered to my dealer.

I haven't seen a data point that says otherwise except I think read either here/reddit that one a dealer told a client that the delay is because his car is on a boat waiting to be unloaded. I think that is way off base sales guy just trying to appease the client or a real rarity.

Just called to the dealer to clarify all those issues
- dealer honors AZX discounts only on certain models and Mach E is not included.
- he told me that the sales representative promised me 2 weeks based on the estimation he usually sees on his computer, but realistically it takes about a month for the car to get to SoCal.....

Agreed. I called another dealership last week when I saw they had a car for sale. I was too late but sales said why dont you place an order, it'll only be 6 weeks from order to delivery for a new order. I laughed and said that's not what I heard but I'll think about it.

I'm in Escondido and my car took exactly 15 days to get to KC from Mexico. That was 3 days ago. Not sure where it is now, but it's obviously going to be more than 2 weeks. I'm really hoping it comes in before the end of the month. That would be 12 days travel time from KC, which is probably overly optimistic.

I am from San Diego. Mine was shipped on 10/8 and looks like it reached to Kansas city today after two weeks. Next step is to unload and get into truck to San Diego. It is definitely more than 2 weeks. Hoping to get it delivered before Nov 1st as Clean Fuel Reward($1500) will be cut into half($750) after Nov 1st sales.
