You should send your text to Jim Farley and Mark Kaufman at Ford.
Can you provide their email or twitter contact. I'm aware of Mike Levine, but the more the merrier. Sometimes as they say "If they don't see the light, make them feel the heat" comes to play with dealers that pull this crap.

My wife and I have bought two cars with the Costco program. The first was a 2010 Hyundai Veracruz. Process was easy, no surprises. Then, in April last year, we used Costco to get a price on an Audi Q5. It was a bit strange due to Covid, but again a very easy process. They sent us to Prestige Audi/Porsche in Denver. The hardest part of the whole process was that they were so short-staffed due to dealer policies with COVID. No surprises on price and the dealer was easy. Of course, they had full lots and times now are different.

I would give it a try. It doesn't take any out of pocket $$ and we got contacted within 24 hours of the submission.

Congrats and welcome!! Just looking at websites you can see the difference in dealer approaches to current market conditions. Tidelands' website has MSRP + ADM of up to $10K on some models or just states "call for pricing" rather list MSRP. The dealer I used not to far up the road in Gastonia NC (Tindol) currently is listing at MSRP minus modest discount amounts. They also had informed sales staff and no pressure for add-ons at time of sale.
Thank you for this information, I will check them out up the road.

(I am the person who had trouble with Tidelands Ford in SC, they told me they would accept x-plan and would not add any ADM over the phone, but then when I went in to order the car, they added another $1150 or $1250 in mandatory fees.)

My dealer has no ADM but said they don't take Costco on the MME. I dont have x plan but I'm ok with that. Too late now and I'm hopefully getting mine info production next week.

There is an $1,100 destination fee (transportation from manufacture site to the dealer) always listed separately and not part of ADM. It can vary significantly by car company and is a "composite fee" reflecting an "average" transportation cost. In the past, it might be negotiable but probably not in today's car purchasing environment. Perhaps that may be the fee you are referencing?

No. They said they took xplan and when I went in to order they had a $500 doc fee and another required mandatory $750 3-year upholstery and paint warranty.

WOW! Thanks for clarifying! Straight ADM, in a way, is a little more honest than that kind of warranty add-on. Xplan seems pretty clear about max fees to me. I'm sorry you had that kind of experience.

You can also check with AAA, Credit Unions, Banks, etc... which may offer buying services. I know my Credit Union used to let you get the car at your local credit union office. There are also independent buyers, perhaps one could be found through veterans groups. One person at work uses a buyer and the car is delivered to them, they just sign off when it comes. In today's buying market perhaps things are slightly current.
