Went from 1.6 to 2.8.3 thanks to my local dealer working with Ford Engineers. And keeping at them until it was all done. Thanks, I've been out blue cruising!

Apologies for hogging the engineers and stalling updates in Western Canada apparently.
At least they believe they have learnt a bit on my stubborn upgrades!

2.8.1 installed last Thursday, 2.8.2 installed today. BlueCruise is working!

Was hopeful 2.8.2 would install before the Holiday Weekend, but no such luck.

Update, Well....*830 PM comes around. Walking back from the hair cut in the neighborhood to find the lights on on the car. GREAT, it must be updating. Looks like the car is actually on when looking from the outside. Walk in the house afraid to disturb the car and check the widget. "PRECONDITIONS NOT MET"..OH COME ON...HV Battery is at 85%, LV battery at 13 volts, and charger plugged in. Come on @fordwhatever (I'm not the @ pro in any way) What are the conditions so I can get this done. PLEASE........

These are the only conditions they tell you.

According to an older post by @breeves002 the conditions could include…

The preconditions can include but are not limited to, the following:
Electronic Steering Column Lock (ESCL) is engaged
Steering tension torque, no torque is applied to the steering wheel
A diagnostic self-test is not active
No Charging faults are reported
Ignition status, Ignition Off
Ignition status, Accessory functionality Off
The battery voltage is within the required range
The vehicle is stopped PRNDL in park
Parking brake is applied
Charging is not in Progress ( hybrid or EV high voltage battery charging/LIII
The hazard indicators are off
The alarm is not sounding
The engine is not running
All doors and liftgate are closed
The parking lights are off
Limp home mode is not active
Illuminated exit is not active
The brake pedal is not being pressed
The battery voltage is within the required range
The windows are closed and not operating
eCall is not active
Remote start is not active
Vehicle theft (SVS) is not active
Remote park assist is not active
Neutral tow is not active
4x4 high/Low is not active
A DTC requiring vehicle service, is not present in the module targeted for the update.

I know my car was charging or plugged in for all of the inhibit updates.

Try going into settings and turning off welcome lights, maybe they are coming on

Update 2.8.2 installed for me tonight, should make for an interesting commute on 60 miles of blue zone tomorrow morning!

Is it really this hard to get an OTA??? If one has to look at 13 or whatever points/items to make sure that they are eligible for the update, is it really gonna be that easy for them to do an OTA?? It's software, come on... Download it OTA and if the car is connected to a charger do it. Damn, this is harder that an unnamed phone or watch to update (on charge and at 50%).
I get that I bought early with a job 1, and I'm down with first in an expect bumps. But the first time i spend 56k on a car, I expect some performance from the vender selling it to meet the expectations they are selling.

Is that too much to ask for? Edit: A rhetorical statement I'm thinking... Just frustrated

Side note: Dealer questionnaire came today for the visit i had this just last week. State inspection, 10k check and rotate tires. Dealer and Ford got a 3. Let's see where that goes..

This really isn't something to get so stressed over. It will try again in a few days.

Are you monitoring the 12V battery with one of the widgets? If so, I would delete it. It could be draining your battery (just because it read 13v doesn't mean it was when the car was doing prechecks). I noticed voltage drop, drop, drop, then top off on my widget....then I wondered whether it was the widget waking up the car constantly that was causing the drain and deleted it.. I believe there might even be a TSB that pertains.

Same happened to me. Got 21G01 at the dealer, but BC and lane centering have been inoperative since then. Then a couple of weeks later I got 2.8.2 and 2.8.3, still not working. On Friday it showed in connected Services I have BC trial until 5/26/2023, still not working.

Sync Version went from 415 to 421 when I got the 2.8.3 OTA and it started showing Lane Centering with Hand Free on the menu. But the maps expiration showed -- at that point and no BC showing in connected services at all. Later BC went to Activation Pending in Connected Services, then last Friday it toggled to Trial Expires 5/26/2023 and the maps in the car shows 10/9/2022.

Ford is terrible at software updates. Off to the dealer again next week.

My car received 2.8.2 this evening and says it now has BC.
It doesn't work. Par for the course.
At least it doesn't appear anything new is broken so I call that progress!

No, because I told them i had an MME and needed a 10k check, state inspection and tire rotation. They still put me down for and ice 10k check, they didn't perform the 10k check, and just did the inspection and tire rotation.
