So does Adaptive Cruise Control.
Well the Adaptive part is only if your behind another vehicle. The Cruise control, I'm not sure.

My C-Max has Cruise Control, Hill descent control, and a L. Never used the cruise on down hill mountains because they are usually too windy to safely be on cruise anyway. Hill descent tries its best but doesn't blend in friction brakes. Low, seems more like a lower gear although the C-Max doesn't have gears. It will use engine braking though. I think hill descent will use engine braking too if the battery is full and can't regen anymore. It's been a while since I used it.

If you're following a vehicle, yes. But if you aren't?

I don't have ACC on my Ford, but with Honda Sensing it will not try to oppose gravity's forces unless there is a vehicle ahead of you.
Our Leaf does a great job of maintaining the speed you set going up, down, or flat. Downhill it automatically engages regen to maintain speed (truckers hate being behind EVs on downhills).

Apparently dealers now have "full sheet" color samples available if anybody wants to take a look that way. I think I'll just wait until the have the whole car.

While helpful, I'm sure they're as limited as paint swatch samples from the hardware store. It's exactly what you want until you see the whole wall painted in it.

L is not needed for downhill.

Robert Iorio said the Auto Grade Assist will hold your speed with no need to touch either pedal and that's when you're not in cruise control.

And if you use the pedals to speed up or slow down, auto grade Assist will match that.

Can this count as evidence that the "metallic tinted clearcoat" transforms Infinite Blue into a color shifting badass?

Love it. Reminds me of my 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid Sunset Metallic. Looked deep red in the shade, and almost orange in direct sunlight. Loved that color.
