Yes... I am going to rant a little bit.

I have a charge fault issue and decided to call the dealer I purchased my Mach-E from to schedule an appointment. I also have the two open roof/windshield recalls and started off the conversation with that. I was told by Ford of Boerne that they do not have an in-house body shop and to call another dealer. I'm honestly surprised how quickly they wanted to get rid of me.

Do I want them to do the work if they don't know what they are doing? Absolutely not, but to flat out start and end the conversation with "call another Ford dealer" is awful.

So, I called the Ford dealer that they recommended. Red McCombs Ford service told me that the FIRST available appointment for the glass is November 8th. How is that even possible? So I ask about the charge port appointment and to quote... "If it is an emergency repair, our next available appointment is August 8th."

I'm going to try a few other dealers, but I'm not anticipating much better. I don't know if I'm getting deprioritized because I didn't purchase the vehicle from Red McCombs or if the old "Fix Or Repair Daily" thing is accurate, and they have a backlog of POS broken vehicles that I should be thankful they can see me in about two months. ?

Is anyone else having this much trouble getting in?

I had the same problem but honestly, I contributed to the long delay in getting the Glass Recalls addressed. The dealer had sold some 30 or so Mach-E's but they hadn't performed a single glass fix yet... and I've been around long enough to know that this is something I didn't want to be first in line for. My car wasn't having any glass issues as far as I could tell. So I waited 4+ months for others to get in line before me before booking the service... which I think my dealer didn't begin to perform (with their independent 'glass man') until late May/early June anyway.

My advice is don't allow any dealer to perform this service for you without giving you the name of at least 2 other Mach-E owners who have had the work done. Reference them before you commit. Because I absolutely believe it's a bit of the 'Wild West' out there in addressing this glass recall.

Good luck!!

I had problems getting anyone to answer the phone at my local dealer. But while running an errand ... I happened to be passing the dealer and decided to just pull in and walk over to the service desk.

At the service desk, they told me (a) a glass company comes in to do that recall (they do take the car over to the body shop, but it's an outside company that performs the recall) and that (b) it takes about 2-3 days.

HIs words "Drop it off on a Monday and I guarantee it'll be done by the end of the week."

I have heard that just occasionally the glass breaks and if that happens ... it'll take longer. One dealer I spoke to said virtually of them break (clearly not the best glass company; I'll go elsewhere, thanks) but other dealers said glass breaks happen but are very rare.

Given my experience waiting for parts, when I go to make my appointment (been waiting for a similar reason) I'm going to get them to explain their plan just in case some goes wrong on either. I'm not going to be satisfied waiting for new part and driving a loaner economy car. Doesn't need to be MME replacement. But not an entry level car if it's going to be at least several days.

My sister called the local dealership about a couple of recalls for her car. They lied to her and told her that parts weren’t available until Q4. ?? She called the dealer I bought my MME from (since she was going to be in that town next month for work) and they scheduled her right away and offered her shuttle service. ??

Some dealers are good, some suck. ??

I had the same issues. I tried to call Jones Ford and no one answers the phone for the service department.
I called Surprise Ford and they said they didn't have a body shop and I should take it to Peoria Ford.
I made and appointment with Peoria Ford but they would not commit to supplying a rental car and said I had to arrange for one myself and that I should call Enterprise Car Rental.
Enterprise said either the dealer or Ford had to reserve the vehicle.

I cancelled the appointment. It'll get done when it gets done; or not.

The service network was one of the big "pros" on my list. I am disappointed that it is actually a negative.

I found a dealer that had an open appointment a couple of weeks out from my call, and I dropped it off last Thursday (which was the scheduled drop-off time). My Mach-E has not moved from their out lot since. The doors have not been unlocked... nothing.

I at least have a rental, but I would have preferred to just tell me to bring it in a week later.

I hear you all, Big Time. And now Ford is playing around with the latest Battery Issue (that bricks your car, no less) by recalling the last recall OTA fix! I accept the realities of driving a new technology... new model EV... but what I'm sorely disappointed in is Ford's commitment to, and execution of their dealer service network. Indeed, some are good, others far less so. If this should be sold under the Lincoln (vs Ford) banner to receive the service level we expect for a $60K+ car, then make it so! I wish I didn't love the darn car so much... which I do! :) And it's that which has me willing to put up with their service... for NOW!

If you can get to the DFW area, try one of the Five Star Ford dealerships. I used the one in Lewisville. They do have an outside shop do the glass recall. I stopped by on a Friday and made an appointment for the following Tuesday. The glass work was done by Thursday. I didn't get the car back until the following week because they did some software updates and ran into some issues. Everything came out just fine.

What's your dealer? I need to book an appointment to clear the recall flag on my car. I was thinking Sunnyvale Ford but that is half an hour drive so I would consider any reliable dealer closer.

Autonation Ford of Littleton does not even answer their phone. A few weeks ago I called to schedule service for S&G put the phone on speaker, plugged it in, and gave up at 2:11 minutes. Not even any decent music on hold just a soul-crushing advertising loop.

Yup it's BS. Two days before my appointment they call to tell me they only have 1 EV tech and wouldn't be able to get me in until end of August. Said they have to help all the people that purchased from them before me...

I bought from Bill Brandt Ford in Brentwood. It's an hour and change drive each way. My sister has work in Brentwood next month, so she decided to get work done and the recalls on her car at the same time. I absolutely hate the closest dealer to my home (Putnam) and the next closest one is the one that lied to my sister (and also silently threw so many add-ons onto my Fusion when I bought it that it jacked a $37K car up over $50K). I never tried any other Ford dealers. ?‍♂?

I think we're all finding out that almost every "EV-Certified" dealer has cheaped out and only sent one tech to Ford's EV school, even a lot of the high-volume dealers. I'm thinking that's why some of our forum members have been able to get their cars serviced more quickly at the smaller or more out of the way dealers. ?‍♂?

Just going to point out, it’s not just ford dealers. My father wants some
ATV repairs on his Polaris. He lives in the Boise area. Big city. Lots of ATV business. First available appointment at any Polaris dealer he can find is August 10th. His summer will be half over before they can even look at it. Try finding a plumber out there who can fit your project in. We’ve become a nation of the needy and skilled labor is becoming more rare every year.
