Yeah, and i think there’s some other logistical planning involved too, where they need a certain amount of cars going in a specific direction to be able to fill a rail car, plus whatever other stuff is contracted regarding delivery. Plus it’s that time of year, where lots of people take vacations.
Where in Canada? I think they group cars to destinations like Toronto.

Yes, trains on CPR head East through Detroit/Windsor largely and those that go West have a few options but if transferred directly to CPR at KC, it's likely routing through either Winnipeg or there's another border cross point in Saskatchewan. Both lines eventually junction at Moose Jaw. If I were a betting person however, I'd say that the routing would look something like KC, Minneapolis, Winnipeg and then onto their northern line through Saskatoon and on into Edmonton. But that's really just a wild guess. Just don't expect there to be anything quick about it. Mine has been on the move for days from KC and finally made it to Chicago this morning. Now less that 1000 miles to go to Agincourt (Toronto) but don't expect that it will make it there until likely this time next week or later.
Once, you have the railcar number, tracking with CPR is easy via their automated telephone service. Kinda fun to follow along and learn about where the train and car have stopped along the way, just wish it was a little faster.
Hopefully it gets loaded onto CP Rail soon. It arrived early early this morning and it’s awaiting unloading and transfer.
