I got the same add-on, the Desert Protection Package, partially because it's just more convenient to have the car delivered ready to go rather than having to drop it off somewhere and leave it for a day. The vendor, Rogue, did a nice job but I'd have preferred a rear window that wasn't as dark as it turned out. I'll try to have them use a lighter film on the 2022.

I'm guessing you're right about the registration fees coming out to be in the $500 range. My 2021 Premium AWD Extended Range came to $475 estimated. The first time around the paperwork showed $869.

I saw that the shareholder offer had gone away. That's especially lousy for people who had already placed orders based on having that benefit. But at least you won't have to pay the additional markups dealers are charging on abandoned orders!
Valid point!
And that’s true. San Tan keeps calling offering me great deals at only $5k ADM instead of $10k!
Thanks again for all the input. I’ll DM if I have more.

sorry to derail the thread. Back to train tracking!

Did your car land at the dealer yet? I haven’t heard from Earnhardt yet.

It did. I went and saw it today. It hasn't been detailed yet but the window tint was done. I hope to pick it up tomorrow. They pulled it out front for me to look at and parked it beside a Lightning. I posted this photo in the 05/23/22 Build Week thread a little while ago. For a dirty car it sure is shiny! :D

Great news. Earnhardt has generally been great to deal with, but a bit of a let down at the end here as there hasn’t been great communication on last steps. Enjoy your car and thanks for helping me with the rail car info. I’ll update once I hear from dealer on my vehicle.

So I contacted Ford Chat and they told me I'm on rail car BNSF314595, however they say my last location is still Ramp 6 (which is its own set of bullshit).

Anyway, I thought the rail car was supposed to start with something like TTGX?

There are multiple railcar owners and each owner has its own prefix. TTGX designation indicates the railcar is owned by TTX Company and the "G" indicates it is an autorack railcar. My car was carried in two different railcars as it made its way from MX, one with a KCS prefix (Kansas City Southern) which was actually one of the cars in the Kansas City Southern train coming from MX, and the other with a UCRY prefix (Utah Central Railway) which was one of the cars in a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train. BNSF314595 is likely owned by Burlington Northern Santa Fe. You can see a picture of that railcar here:

FYI. I’ve been seeing a lot of NorCal destined MMEs on rail cars with a final destination of Portland. Idk if that means they’re trucking south from that point or what. Would make sense, with the current California embargo, to get our cars to us quicker.

Car landed today. Picked it up this evening. All was well except rockers were slightly misaligned such that rear passenger door wasn’t opening correctly (slightly rubbing). They adjusted the gap and all good.

Congratulations! I expect you're going to be very happy with it. I haven't been able to get mine yet because my credit union waited a day to send the check to the dealership so it's looking like Monday for me. Enjoy your first weekend with yours!

Did you get yours yesterday? FYI if you haven't tried, try opening and closing the frunk. the supports on mine were too high and mine wouldn't close with spinning them down a bit. My mother has one inbound -- any recommendations on tracking it? Railcar #AOK 501875 (Kansas City Southern Railway Co.) and Convoy #1362521247 (Jack Cooper Transport).

LOL. No, I don't have it yet. On Monday, for some reason, UPS didn't even bother to put my credit union's envelop on a delivery truck. They made up for it today and it did go out for delivery, but the credit union put the address for a different division of the company on the shipper so UPS started looking for an address correction. Supposedly, the dealership has gotten this straightened out and it will be delivered at some point, but "when" remains a mystery.

I remember some people writing about the frunk hood being hard go close when the 2021 model was shipping. Some wrote that they had adjusted those stops down a little bit to make it easier. My 2021 takes a soft slam to close the hood. When it's about ½ way closed I give it an encouraging push with my hand and it snaps closed. I'm not sure if this is considered by some to be difficult to close or if some hoods are actually much harder to close. I'm comfortable with mine as it is. I'll try out the 2022 when I finally get my hands on it.

I'm not familiar with other railroad companies tracking features. Jack Cooper Transport used to have a tracking link but for some reason they've removed it. Maybe someone else can help here.

How frustrating with UPS. Sounds like perhaps tomorrow is the day. Wise to send the check directly. I had a loan done with my credit union (OneAZ) with a rate lock from June. The dealership talked me into “indirect funding” - basically they submit an app to credit union with my loan reference number and it gets linked on the backend. Although I have no reason to think it won’t work, I did end up with an unnecessary hard credit pull. I could have just picked up a check at the branch, but this was the dealer’s preference - perhaps they get some type of financial benefit this way.

Yes, the dealer suggested the same to me. I'd locked in directly with OneAZ a day or two before their recent rate increase but I stood firm that there would be only one hard pull on my credit report and OneAZ had already done it. My mistake was working with the OneAZ branch in Prescott (someone in Prescott grabbed my application before anybody in Tempe) and I didn't foresee the delays and potential screwups that could result when working with someone remotely. Had I worked with the Tempe branch, I'd have picked up my car on Thursday. It's not a catastrophe, just a little disappointing.

Finally, I picked it up today. What a great ride! I tried the frunk and found that the slam it needed in order to latch was way harder than the frunk on my 2021. I'll be making an adjustment there tomorrow. I noticed that the eyeglasses holder, when closed, isn't flush with its surrounding: the side that opens hangs below the adjacent molding and the hinge side remains angled slightly up into the ceiling, as if it's not latching all the way closed. So far my Welcome lighting isn't working even though it is turned on. I'll need to dig into that too. But at least I finally got the car.
