2021 GTPE. No major issues for almost a year.

Flat tire. Tried to get it enough to limp home but the air went in the valve and out the hole on the other side of the tire. Between the tread and sidewall so likely toast.

Dealing with Ford Roadside was hell. The first person had no idea what she was doing and tried telling us:
1) we did not have coverage
2) even if we had coverage they were going to charge us $500

My wife got a case number and I called back immediately. Fortunately the second person was awesome. She said the original person left a blank ticket and she could only pull it up because I had the case number.

Tow truck was scheduled and I received text messages with phone numbers and a link to track it all. Tow guy called and said 75 minutes and he was here right on time.

however, every 20 minutes I was receiving texts stating the time is estimated to be 43 minutes. Even though the car has been picked up, I am still getting the messages.

A spare tire for long trips will probably be purchased. We are fortunate in that we were very close to home and friends could take us to retrieve our other car and I have my motorcycle to fall back on.

Can someone explain why I keep seeing Ford Roadside trying to charge people for it when it should be covered?
in my situation it was just poor customer service and their agents being boxed in by the policies of the roadside program that resulted in my having to pay

I have not had to use Ford roadside assistance yet. But all of my recent cars have been GM models with OnStar and never had any issues with them, had a few flats and a dead 12v once.

Incompetence. Poor oversight by Ford.

I think the issue here isn't Ford Roadside, as they are really no different than AAA, or insurance companies, or even credit card companies that are offering the same service. The issue is the local roadside service providers and the knowledge base they've acquired in dealing with the local fleet. I've had the same bad experience with my E350 that I've heard a few times here with the MME, i.e. can't find the lift points, etc.

It''s still an ICE world for the most part, though in the Bay Area prolly 15% of the cars I see on a given day are Teslas now, so the tide is changing. However, outside of Teslandia, i suspect it's going to take awhile for the industry to adapt.

on a positive thought, that means every "Stop safely now" is a training opportunity for your local provider, so really that inconvenience is a community service we're rendering. Feels better now, don't it?

The guy operating the tow truck was very professional and listened to me. We were able to put enough air in the tire to drive it up, but it would be completely flat by the time it arrived.

I showed him the tow hook area and jack areas image and he asked if I would text it to him. Apparently they have been seeing a lot of electric cars and he wanted to be more familiar with them. He asked a few questions and was very polite.

Did you try the flat repair goo in the compressor?

But you tried just putting air in it, and then it held enough air to drive on the flatbed. Seems like I would have tried the goo. Was just curious to see if it worked.

We had a flat the first week. Ford sent a hook truck first and finally a flatbed.

Bought a "modern spare" for our road trip we took back in June. We ordered it a few months in advance so it would arrive on time. The spare is still on back order.

This is something I have been worried about honestly. My last car I had no issues jacking it up and changing the tire if I needed to. The Mach-E is twice the weight of that car and did not come with a spare tire. Its been 10 years since I purchased a car, so I did not know that spare tires were no longer standard -- had them in my last two new cars.

2015 Fusion hybrid was my first w/o a spare. Luckily never had to use the goo kit, but the air compressor came in handy.

when my car bricked from
they wouldn’t take to the dealership that I purchased from, had serviced at, and could get me into a loaner car same day because another ford dealership was closer.

it was about an 18 mile difference

I paid for it.

I would have hoped for a little bit of service from ford considering the car bricked 10 days after I got it back from a 36 night stay for the camera issue.
