@Jax_GT how did you learn more about your vehicle's status. My car has been at Kansas City Asy since Oct 12. Last week my dealer said my vehicle was damaged, but couldn't tell me more. After a couple attempts, chat told me it was Category F (AMRO), but the dealer would have more info.

What did you end up doing?

Yeah, chat is very hesitant to give that out. It’s funny because they always tell me “congratulations your car is in transit” but omit the major issue.
I immediately called my sales rep, which was a mistake since he knew nothing and lied to me about the situation. Not necessarily maliciously, but more for lack of understanding and trying to make me happy and get off his back.

I emailed the General Manager to get more info. Put 'Urgent Issue' and 'Category F Damage' in the title. Explained that my issue doesn't relate to any staff at his dealership but I found out my car is damaged and I'd like to find out more information and get a status update as the ETA disappeared. GM ended up emailing me the waiver that Ford Corporate sends to him about the car being damaged and asking if he still wants to accept it. Alongside that info the insurance claim and photos of the damage were attached. Mine was fairly minor, but still eclipsed the $1000 mark for Cat. F (which seems really low for a modern car). I think mine totaled to a little over $4000 but they had to disclose $2000 something based on state law, it varies. So when yours shows up, depending on your state, they can only sell it new to you if they disclose the damage. After emailing the GM, I gave him my number and asked to chat. He called and we talked for a bit to discuss options and what the next steps were. He's kept in touch over the last few months, a few times after I reached out and once or twice unprovoked. Originally, he said it was fixed back in September, but then called me last week (after I followed up) it turned out there was a delay but it should be fixed now and back in the shipping flow the first week of November. Why it takes Ford two full months to fix a dent blows my mind.

As it stands, I'm hopeful that it'll ship next week or so and we'll see it by Thanksgiving.

Mine was at Richards-Gebuar until 8/18, then transferred to Kansas City Asy on 8/24. My VVR updated 9/24 showing the same and hadn't updated since. If your car just got there, you could be in for a multiple month wait. I hope you aren't, but be prepared for it.

Ultimately, email your GM asking for information and they should help out. Ford marketing is less than useless. They have no info and they created a case and escalated to a 'supervisor' but they had no other information. Ford twitter has nothing different.

DM me if you want more specific information, advice, or anything. These last two months have been a nightmare with this vehicle (take a look at some updates in the 7/18 build week thread). Happy to help you out through advice or just someone to vent to.

@Jax_GT thanks so much for the thorough description! Hopefully my dealer will be a bit more forthcoming with info. I'm concerned I won't get this before the new year and miss out on the $7500 in tax rebates. Sounds like a ton of cars are stuck in Kansas City. Especially those headed west. I thought the production gap as they switched to '23 model would help alleviate this sort of stuff.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it’s going to be tight. Mine was shipped in July and I’m on my dealer constantly saying this needs to happen before year end and I’m already worried.
Not saying yours won’t get here by then, but just mentally prepare. Stay on your dealer, politely, to keep you in the loop.
I still reach out to Ford chat to check but that never updates anymore. And my estimated delivery now just shows blank. That’s how I knew something was up, originally.
