Using the Michelin Cross Climate 2 all season, snow rated tires. This will be my first winter with the GTPE- I have a colleague how has them on his Lexus and highly recommend them/ he runs them all year.
I run these year round on my other vehicle and they are legit awesome.

I live in MD where we rarely get snow but often get days below 40° F, so I switched to Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4s year-round. I don't need the extra performance of summer tires, nor the extra expense and storage space of a second set of wheels/tires. Been super happy with the Michelins so far.
This is exactly what I do and they're surprisingly good in snow.

Started looking for a set of winter tires for my GTPE and was curious what other's setup is. Was looking to just have the stock set of rims and mount/dismount the winter tires every year since it looks like steely rims for this car would be quite expensive due to the weight.

Just looking for recommendations / thought.

Thanks!
My wife's GTPE runs on Michelin pilot sport as 4 all season. Last winter snow here in west, pa was brutal. The tires performed excellent in deep snow and wet slippery mush. Tire rack has them and were reasonably priced. They are rated xl for vehicles over 5000lbs.

I put the Cross Climate on my wife Mercedes GLE400, and they do great. I’m happy to hear they do well on the Mach E as well.

My Mach E is scheduled to be delivered in Dec, so living in KY, the first thing I’ll do is put winter tires on. we don’t get a lot of snow, but we do get consistent temps below freezing and ice storms.

It's crazy, I'm in Chicago and it's 72 today- we are expecting a cool down starting tomorrow - high of 43( that's Chicago ?). So we do get a lot of snow, so hopefully they are all good. Unless it's in the 60's in December ??.
Thanks for the feedback.

Like @BTRYPWRDPONY, I live in the Midwest (St. Louis) where the weather is surprisingly nice. But we are dropping to mid-30s this weekend.

I just picked up my GTPE last night. I know the stock tires are unacceptable for winter use, and I appreciate everyone's recommendations.

I am curious about the recommendations. Are the tires folks are using rated for an EV and the extra weight? Is that even something that needs to be considered?

I've mostly been lurking until recently, and since I'm one of the ones waiting on an MME, I'm no authority...but what I've read is yes, weight and speed rating ARE important. I seem to recall someone above referencing this...note also that at least in some brief searching in my area, you may be limited in terms of availability...

Tires are load rated. To calculate the required load index you must divide the gross vehicle weight rating by 4, or the gross axle weight rating by two.

My GVWR is 5980 lbs, so that means you have to have a load index of at least 1495 lbs. However, the GAWR on my GT PE's rear axle is 3260 lbs, so you have to have a load index of at least 1630 lbs. That would be a 98 load index.

All that being said, all MachE's come with at least a 103 or 104 load index. Most tire company websites will allow you to put in your vehicle and it will only show you the options that will work. You will find that your choices are pretty limited.

I'M running a 245/45/20 XL 103V Michelin Cross Climate 2 on the GTPE. The XL( extra load) is important for the tires.

My tire guys recommended the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 for St. Louis. The tire guys said this option is better for weather here since we don't usually get too cold or have too much snow. They did say this tire's tread looks a wonky :))).

The price was good, it was rated for the Mach-E max speed and load, and is highly rated. They are on order to be installed next week. I'll report how they handle.

Now, what do I do with brand new summer Perrelli tires that have maybe 25 miles on them? ;)

Of the four tire places I called in my area, none carried Vredestein. Not sure why...

I went with Blizzak LM001’s.

Had Blizzaks on my ‘96 A4 quattro and they were great when we lived in Michigan.
So far so good. Got me over Vail Pass just fine during an early snowstorm. Ride is good. Noise level is similar to the stock Pirellis.
