I took my car to my local dealer since I had the dreaded HVBJB failure. They turned the car around in about a week and did ok.
I was washing my car and noticed that the right front fender trim, at the bottom was loose. I looked at the Ford repair manual to reference how this is attached. According to the manual the outer plastic (painted section) is attached to the inner black mounting section. It seems to be one piece. On my car, the two seemed to have separated.
I also noticed that one of the mounting clips is missing. This leads me to believe that the dealer took it off along with the fender liner to access the the HVBJB. I looked at the manual and it does not describe this as a requirement. It almost looks like there was some form of adhesive that attaches the fender plastic painted trim to the rear black backing piece. It looks like there are black dimples that look like glue contact points
At the very least, if the dealer did not damage this, I think this is a warranty issue. I am very interested in people input on if this was glued together and is coming apart. Also, would the dealer have to remove this to fix the HVBJB? I think this is a warranty issue, what do you think? I will be calling the dealer to get the car back for assessment.
