Near as I can tell, I never got Blue Cruise 1.2. I keep trying the auto lane change to no avail.

No one has, 2021, and 2022 have BC 1.0, 2023s shipped with 1.2, and it looks like 1.3 is the version we will all go to. Has some improvements and probably has the extra code to work on older cars.

Wow, this update is great news. The frequent disconnects on curves were a big gripe of mine. The thing is, BlueCruise always did fine steering itself through the curves if you just tug and let go to clear the nag warning. So it didn't really make any sense why it would have to drop out, it did fine and just always seemed like an excessively conservative software limitation. So I'm wondering if they just changed the curve dropout threshold (very simple software change) or if it actually steers more accurately. Sandy Munro will be happy too, dropouts on curves was also one of his major gripes with it, in his video he roasted the Ford engineer over it.

Here are my other major gripes with the current BlueCruise implementation I also wish could be addressed:
  • Poor Coverage - Hands-free mode could easily work on more roads than it does now, including rural 2-lane highways. It does fine on almost all roads. Hands-free mode is out of reach for many people in rural areas. It's a poor value because of how few roads it works on.
  • Curve Speed Assist too conservative - This feature slows the car down too much on curves, and has no adjustment capability. It frustrates traffic behind you with excessive and abrupt slowdowns. Also cannot be turned off independent of speed sign recognition.
  • Doesn't ask to change speed limits - When the detected speed limit changes 20 MPH or more, it should ask you to confirm because of the poor map data often encountered.
  • Crowdsourced map data collection could also help with making the above improvements.
Hoping these additional issues could be fixed too. I also hope BlueCruise 1.3 updates don't get horribly delayed. We've been waiting on 1.2 for quite a while now with no news, but I guess they decided to wait for the release of 1.3. Which is fine, but I wish we knew that was the plan sooner.

BC 1.2 hasn't rolled out to anyone OTA. Looks like they'll be going right to 1.3.
1.2, 1.3, whatever it takes....

Unlike seemingly most of the posters here I am using BC 1.0 on my 21 Job 1 and am content enough that I use it whenever I enter one of the many mapped freeways close to where I live near Boston. It makes driving much easier than before.
I've been waiting eagerly for OTA 1.2 and hope 1.3 does not delay further when I get it (given how long it took to get 1.0 OTA without EA access). I will have no trouble paying for the 3 years for $600 after the end of this year. If I still have the car after that would hope that the price is not as exorbitant then as Ford now seems to think it's worth. Would hate to have one of the best features turn to being one that I complain about.
I am generally happy with 1.0 and also use it whenever I can, but I do have to make adjustments more than I should in traffic. I too welcome the update and am (just) willing to pay $600 for 3 years. I will certainly be disappointed if they keep their proposed pricing thereafter because I refuse to pay that much for something I already had - I'll probably move on to a different car at that point.

Fully agree here, we will see what 1.3 really improves once we get a comprehensive review of it. The thing I will add to the list bit. It should be easy to add extra map data as CarPlay actually supplies the vehicle this data in meta data form just like it does for the directions in the IP. Ford just needs to let Sync read it. This would definitely be an upgrade on the current data since you can report speed sign inaccuracy to Apple and they resolve them very quickly. (Usually within a few days if the report is accurate and evidence provided.)

I am curious to see when the rollout begins. My assumption is that since the embargo is lifted on YouTubers who have 1.3 It's ready to ship and install now. Just waiting to see who gets the first wave and when. (Should be EA, then general rollout.)

is the CMR updateable OTA? I know that's one of my BC modules that had a recent update available so hopefully that's included in BC 1.3 rollout

No YouTuber has tested a vehicle with BlueCruise 1.3 yet.

However, Ford has send out a bunch of press vehicles for many channels to test 1.2 over the past 6 months, which is probably what you're thinking of.

Yes, all the BlueCruise hardware is OTA updatable.

No YouTuber has tested a vehicle with BlueCruise 1.3 yet.
Marques Brownlee just released a first impressions video where he said he was testing it (it was posted in this topic several times already). I'm guessing there are some media with 1.3 cars right now, but they are probably under embargo to show/review it for now. Hopefully we get some more video of testing it in the next couple weeks. Or maybe some forum people that are taking delivery of a July built vehicle could give us an update, these should be arrive to dealers very soon. Also looking for impressions on the new LFP battery.

So you think for us still on 1.1 they will just jump to 1.3? Hope it's soon before my 3 years runs out. Want to able to try it out while still on 3 year. Will not pay $800 for it.
What makes you think you're on 1.1?

Yes, Ford is jumping straight to 1.3.
