The decision to put the cables overhead was a genius move. It solves the problem of whether the charging port is optimally located on a vehicle, because it can (probably) reach any corner of a vehicle.
Keeps the heavy cable up and out of the way, and keeps people from driving on / into the cable.

Obviously only becomes possible in a garage setting, but it would be nice if more outdoor chargers were built with canopies and could explore a design that puts cables overhead.

I mounted my L2 on my garage ceiling after seeing someone suggest it on this forum. Been super happy with it up there.

Have you seen the YouTube videos of the Kempower units? Their cables are on arms that stick up above the cabinet. They are designed to flex. Kempower is building a factory in the USA so we may start seeing them around.
