Have you seen the YouTube videos of the Kempower units? Their cables are on arms that stick up above the cabinet. They are designed to flex. Kempower is building a factory in the USA so we may start seeing them around. The decision to put the cables overhead was a genius move. It solves the problem of whether the charging port is optimally located on a vehicle, because it can (probably) reach any corner of a vehicle.
Keeps the heavy cable up and out of the way, and keeps people from driving on / into the cable.
Obviously only becomes possible in a garage setting, but it would be nice if more outdoor chargers were built with canopies and could explore a design that puts cables overhead.
I mounted my L2 on my garage ceiling after seeing someone suggest it on this forum. Been super happy with it up there.
