That doesn't make sense. At time of transfer, you set up Ford pass and the vin get's moved to you. He must have ordered before transfer. Or you waited to set up Ford pass. Like letting them keep the keys to the car..

Yes, Tesla sold the adapters to Ford and Ford is in turn giving them to MME and Lightning owners for free.

So yes: thank you Ford

Test your adapters ahead of time to make sure you're familiar with how they lock / unlock.

Also double check you have your billing all set before you go on a road trip and go through all this for the first time.

I tried mine out today. This was my first fast charge. I went from 29% to 55% and then disconnected and went to a EA charger and did the same there and unhooked there at 81%. Both worked like a charm first try plug and charge. I waited until the Tesla location was not so busy before going.

Slightly off topic, there are still many superchargers that don't yet support NACS adapter. I'm a but surprised. See evidence from Tesla map of Oregon (eyeballing here but approximately ~1/3 won't work).

Look at your order confirmation e-mail; it's going to have something like "900xxxxxx". The part without the leading "9" is your order number.

Nice case here for the adapter and it fits in drivers door side pocket. You can keep it in frunk for more security when not traveling.
