EV batteries can theoretically be used for home power but you’d need a controller for the specific battery. Additionally the insurance company gets the car and sells it for salvage, so they’re not going to give you the car battery - at least I highly doubt it.is that a thing?
I doubt fault will be shared on a public internet forum.Wow, Glad you walked away with only bruises. Hate to see your car wrecked but it is nice to know it can protect the driver in the case of a serious incident.
Whom was at fault?
Agree the insurance company gets to dispose of the battery and that a controller would be needed, and probably best if a photovoltaic system charges it. A lot goes into home power backup. I apologize if anyone concluded it was a simple 'hang in the garage and plug in'. But, the battery would probably be the most expensive part of a backup system.EV batteries can theoretically be used for home power but you’d need a controller for the specific battery. The other vehicle failed to remain stopped at an intersection (they had stop sign).I doubt fault will be shared on a public internet forum.

This is why I posted, it mangled my car badly with 2 collisions in 1 incident. Yet, the car’s safety features protected me from any serious injury. It was to let others know the car will protect us in situations as neededAs sad as these wrecks are to see, it is good these cars do their job when the worst happens and protect the occupants from serious injury or worse, that's what really matters in the end, and replacing it is why we have insurance!
Egads, what a mess. Hard to believe you made it out of that confusion without serious injury. Great to hear you sustained only minor issues. Sure hope future days don't reveal more hurts.I was hit in driver’s side and shoved into a pole. Every airbag in the car activated. After ER check out, just pain, bruises and some swelling. The MME did its job in the collision and protected me.
A few pictures are attached.
I’m planning to check on a new one, we really enjoyed the MME.
Not sure if this is forum info, but the car saved me from serious injury.
Thank you @Ford Motor Company

Okay, I've seen some wrecks in my day, but the accident really peeled the tire off the rim? Holy crap!
Yes, the side impact from the SUV slammed the car sideways and into the pole. Whe I was helped out of the car, the tire was off the wheel.Okay, I've seen some wrecks in my day, but the accident really peeled the tire off the rim? Holy crap!
