This appears to be random that the central speaker (21 premium) starts sounding static-y. I moved the balance/fade around to isolate it. Shutting down the car for a few minutes seems to fix it, but it creeps back in.
Doesn't matter if it is carplay, or built in systems (beeps, alexa, radio) I believe it started after getting 6.14

Thoughts?

You might need to update your ACM and/or DSP module.

I've had it happen intermittently since 6.14. It corrects itself after a drive or two.

I think it's an AA issue or one of the apps being used. Microsoft Teams is my initial suspect as it seems to happen after I am on a Teams call in the car. I need to gather more data though. It might just be my proclivity on blaming Microsoft, but Teams does funky things with devices, so I am suspect.

It's only happened 3-4 times since 6.14. I've tried Sync reboots, EQ adjustments, sound/EQ adjustments on my phone, etc. with no luck. After a drive or two, it miraculously is working without issue.

The static is unbearable. It's like a blown speaker, but it's not. It also only seems to affect the center channel. (I've tried forcing stereo, etc., to no avail.)

EDIT: Noticed you mentioned Carplay, so then I cannot blame AA.

While I understand your willingness to blame teams... It happens on zoom calls for me too :)

Good afternoon. Would you mind sending over a private message with your VIN and dealer info so I can look into this static concern on my end?

Well ford told me in an IM to take it to a dealer. They will likely charge me for a disc only to tell me there is nothing they can do. I guess I’ll just have to waiting until an update….

A user on a facebook group had the center speaker replaced under warranty. It did not solve the problem @Ford Motor Company this is not a hardware issue, this is a software issue.

I had the same issue coming from the front center speaker that is under that plastic grill piece. Occasionally popping or making fuzzy static noises. Turns out that the speaker was warped over the last ~2 years of usage. It’s right where the air vents are so my theory is that it has some rapid cooling/heating events.

The speaker is super easy and cheap to replace. Mine cost $20 CAD from my local dealership. Popped the grill cover off with about 8 or 9 pins and swapped it. Wrapped the base of my new one in some insulating foam to try and help prevent it from warping again. All good to go now. Nothing really to do with the DSP/ACM for me.

That being said, it COULD be a software issue. There were updates in the past that tried to help alleviate the same issue. Dealership can update the modules yes, but DSP and ACM should also come OTA.

I ordered one from the dealer, I'll install it when it arrives.
