Just today I was looking at OBD readings and I noticed HVBSOH dropped to 97.5% and the battery age is shown as 13 months. Is this normal?
How fast do these batteries degrade? I only use Level 1 chargers day to day and use Level 3 when I take long trips (400 - 600 miles), which is once in 2-3 months.

I cannot speak for the MME, but for our last car, a 2018 Tesla Model 3, the first year had the most degradation (3%), then for the next 4 years only about 1% total.

Okay. I was wondering if it had to do anything with my driving style.

Hard to say if this is normal without other information:
  • What model year
  • When was car built
  • How many discharge cycle
If you have a '21 than that would be awesome.

2023 mach e Gt. I think the build month was June or July.
Does the discharge cycle mean dropping the charge level really low and fully charging? then single digit.

I have 91500 miles on my 21 premium 4x. I did a (think I did it right) battery calibration running the battery down to 15% charging to 100. Prior to that it had been 91.5. Now it shows 88.5.

OK, I will give myself up to the onslaught. I know, always questions about battery duration and degradation on the Forum. But I do request your interpretation and suggestions. My battery duration seems to have slipped significantly. I recently took a 2 week road trip 1,200 miles, Portland, Oregon->WA->MT->WA->home. On the road (HVDC) I never charged >80%; at home in preparation for the trip to 95%. (At home usually 85% with level 2). Odometer and range mileage were close except 88% when I drove 80 mph in the 90 degree weather; I stopped that immediately! Now I am reporting range only 160 miles at 70% charge, (that would be about 210 max!!).

Car is running fine. Have not had HVBJB replaced. I don't drive it hard, look I'm 77 years old. I tend to understand mechanical, not digital; I don't do OBD. Before the trip we had a 20K check (rotate tires and eyeball for problems) tho I don't know if they looked at the coolant fluid levels under the frunk covers.

But I am planning another 800 mile trip this weekend.

My MME is a 2022 August-built. Premium ER eAWD. 27K on the odometer. Charged to 100% less than 5 times. I had a Nissan Leaf for three years before the MME, I was waiting for Ford to come out with the MME, so I have some experience.

THat's not a symptom of impending HVBJB failure, is it? Should I just push the factory reset button? Call Ford Central? Take it to my dealer? (I think they're good). Fahgetaboutit? Not take it on this next trip?

Thanks for your thoughts.

I have seen a lot of data saying not to charge to 100% if you do not need to. If your only using 10 to 20% of your battery daily, charge to only 70% or 80%, yes they say the Mach-E will lose soh the first year or so then stabilize.
