It looks like it should be a direct replacement for the insert on the GT - which attaches to the bumper cover (and, from what I've looked into, you have to remove the whole bumper to change that part). There are some tabs on the back of the OEM part around the outside that insert into the bumper cover. How does it attach to the car?
That's how I'm hoping it attaches, but I have also seen carbon fiber parts that while they are real carbon fiber, they just double stick tape over top of the original part... Not having any experience with this company, some details about how the parts actually get installed would be great! It looks like it should be a direct replacement for the insert on the GT - which attaches to the bumper cover (and, from what I've looked into, you have to remove the whole bumper to change that part). Funny thing is, even in carbon, this is probably cheaper than the OEM GT insert (which MSRP is $2k).
Just me guessing at this point, but from the photo, it doesn't LOOK like it is installed on top of the existing part - but I can't say that for sure. So yes, would be good to see some details. Elmer’s pasteHow does it attach to the car?
On their website, they have some items labeled as stick by 3M tape and other items labeled as replacement. This grill in particular is labeled as replacement, so it seems like it attaches using the OEM fastening system and not any adhesive or "Elmer's paste"Just me guessing at this point, but from the photo, it doesn't LOOK like it is installed on top of the existing part - but I can't say that for sure. Is hard to take the grill out and usualy will break some clipsYup, just opened it up on my phone. And as I thought, all versions MUCH cheaper than the OEM one. I'd actually consider the forged carbon version for mine if it were glossy.
The reason I know even anything about the OEM one is that there's one sitting in my living room at the moment. A rock cracked my existing one a month or two ago and I bought an OEM replacement off eBay for like $500. I haven't gotten around to swapping it yet just because of the hassle of removing the bumper. I couldn't find any decent way to remove it from the front (even tried some suction cups to pull it straight out).
Right , is a replacemente and not a add onOn their website, they have some items labeled as stick by 3M tape and other items labeled as replacement. Here there is not much to explain, is taking the old out and replace with our carbon. That's how I'm hoping it attaches, but I have also seen carbon fiber parts that while they are real carbon fiber, they just double stick tape over top of the original part... Why our site is blocked? Can we make something on our side?Just me guessing at this point, but from the photo, it doesn't LOOK like it is installed on top of the existing part - but I can't say that for sure. Na, just a really strict firewall that apparently has filters for how "new" a website is. I'm sure it'll eventually work but I don't know what that "new site" timeline is for it.Why our site is blocked? Can we make something on our side?
