How can paint be polished to show original luster?

My car was in the shop to repair the roof. After being home, I noticed that in a lot of areas the car appears to have sprayed on rough type of glue like micro spots. I’ve cleaned, rubbed compound, waxed it multiple times. It’s better but still not smooth. Is there anything else that will fix it?
Thank you for your input

Why not bring it back to the shop and ask them to fix it?

Clay bar should take care of any surface impurities. I’ve haven spray paint off using a clay bar.
That would be my recommendation too. Clay bar with a decent lubricant spray. Griot's Garage has them.

Agree clay bar will do the trick. I used to just use the clay bar when the car was still wet, but now they have a fancy "clay bar lube" I guess

You will need to clay bar the car as mentioned above, apply a correcting polish, and wax. Best to use a random orbital polishing machine to do this (Griots has all this stuff along with instructions on how to do it). A good detailer can do this for you in about 4-5 hours.

Thank you all for the advice! Will do the clay bar and post the result
Look up some YouTube videos if you’ve never done it before. There will be some good tips.
Like don’t drop the clay bar. ?

This kit is a good one.

Agreed. And bear in mind that the clay bar treatment will take all of the wax/paint sealant off too so plan on resealing the paint right after you've done the clay bar Rx.

Also bear in mind that you should use a different clay bar for the glass than the paint, at least according to Griot's Garage.

I agree with the clay bar recommendations. Two additional thoughts to keep in mind:

1) Clay bars come in different levels of abrasiveness (ex light , medium, or heavy). My guess is that to remove the overspray, you will likely need the medium or heavy.

2) Even if you use plenty of clay lube, there is a good chance that you will lightly mar the paint. So after you are done using a clay bar to remove the overspray, your paint may need a machine polishing with a dual action polisher to restore the paint's gloss and shine.

Good luck.
