2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium AWD (11/23 build), Vapor Blue Metallic
Country flag
I couldn't buy a Bullitt, and after buying a 2001 GT (had to go with silver), a 2005 GT (Silver, again), and a 2007 GT ("Windveil Blue"), I gave up on waiting for any other Mustang to be offered in Highland Green. So, I've got the Mach-E in "Vapor Blue Metallic;" which looks a lot like the "Windveil Blue."
On a related matter: paint quality is really poor. Ford never has been good with paint. My old '83 Thunderbird and our family 2010 Flex (greatest road trip vehicle ever!) had paint peeling off the hoods and doors before either of the cars had 60k miles. On my new 2023 Mach-E there are very small spots/areas of overspray (?) I can actually see when looking along the side of the car when the light is right (e.g., on the driver door under the handle, and along the right rear fender), and can feel when running my hand over them....

Ventilated seats is disappointing, though. I was hoping for cooled or air-conditioned. When they say "ventilated", they just mean moving the warm or cabin-temperature air around, right?
Ventilated does mean cooled. It does on Lightning.

Wondered the same. Why keep the parking button?? Bring the feature back then.
I noticed that too! For god or whatever's sake, if Ford is not going to add auto-parking, than change the button to something useful like Trunk/Frunk. Or have it plot the closes charger.

The brand new Model Y we drove before buying a Mach-E had one, IIRC.
Yes, and I believe Tesla has added them to the model 3 as well.

This isn't really true anymore. Modern heat pumps can maintain good efficiency well below freezing. https://www.researchgate.net/public...rature_and_comparison_with_other_refrigerants
Thanks! I just replaced my entire system about 4-5 years ago. Hopefully, I won’t have to do so again until we have miniature nuclear reactors for the home or something. I’m tired of paying PECO their outlandish rates for their certified non-GMO, gluten-free, non-dairy, tree nut-free, all natural, fair trade, responsibly cultivated electrons. ???

It still looks like the same QNX based system... I would have thought they would get rid of it in the 2025 refresh.

Ford probably won't change that hardware until the generational change for the 2027 model year. ??

And something practical, when are they going to add a tow hook attachment location as I understand the EU models have.

Ford Fusion, Mach E soon?

They repacked the radiator and slanted it backwards. On the current models the radiator is vertical like a traditional ICE, and the frunk has the curved lump at the front with the cup holders for the radiator fan. Now they’ve tilted the radiator backwards for more surface area (desirable with a heat pump) and the frunk is now more of a tray than a deep compartment. Tradeoffs I guess, but I’m glad they still left some space to put a charge cord in there. I don’t think most people use the full frunk regularly. I see they left a drain in the frunk, so you can still have your iconic frunk shrimp party.

Good news, heat pump will be standard on all 2025 models.

Supposedly new electrical architecture as well, I don’t have any details on that yet but perhaps there’s a switch to lithium 12V battery? Hopefully this means less 12V issues.

The suspension has been retuned for the Select and Premium models for greater comfort. Hopefully this means it’s less stiff and not as bouncy. New brake pad materials that are less noisy too.

And *I HOPE* they added the kW charging rate to the new instrument cluster software…
I'll be interested to see if the new heat pump is also more efficient in air conditioning mode. I don't think the old AC was specific to EVs, so it may not have been designed with efficiency in mind.

"New electrical architecture" could mean anything from "we changed a few wires" to "we implemented a zonal 48v architecture (unlikely)." Lithium 12V battery seems like a good guess. Bringing in some in-house designed components/control modules designed for the nextgen vehicles to replace things repurposed from internal combustion platforms is probably also something that would be both feasible and beneficial.

None of what's currently advertised is likely to convince us to trade from our 2022 to the 2025.

Assuming the photoshopped-looking IPC is displaying accurate information--and that the mock-up car's badging is for a RWD, SR--the IPC's shown range of 290 miles seems like an increase from the Select RWD, SR range of 250 miles. Hard to say, though.
