Remote Climate Start

Lately, when I try to start climate via the fordpass app it fails 90% of the time. Just spins and fails. It’s a fairly recent thing. It seems to work within Bluetooth range more consistently but that‘s kind of useless when it’s 20 degrees out. App is updating, shows current status.

Anyone else experience this and have a fix. I’m on an iPhone 15.

I'm on Android, but if I open FordPass and the timestamp is stale, I can get a failure on the Climate Start request.
If I then refresh FordPass, and the timestamp updates to current time, the same Climate request succeeds.

In fact, upon refresh, I've seen the previous failed request suddenly show Climate now running.

Signed out of app, rebooted phone several times. No good. Also pulled the fuse for the modem, didn’t work

Interestingly, I don’t see the timestamp anymore on the new FordPass app for iOS. I open and close the app several times and occasionally like you when I reopen the app it is running.

The current Android release 5.9.0 does not have a timestamp there. The timestamp on my location map is 21 hours old.

Mine is 15 hours old, but when I click the refresh button on the upper right corner, 5 seconds later it refreshes to Now.

The latest is 5.10.0, actually, and it does have the timestamp. But it's behind, probably to the time when charging ended.

P.S. Locking the car from the app worked and removed the timestamp, now it says "Updated".

How long have you had 5.10.0 on your Android phone?
I just checked to see if it was available in the Play Store for my S23 and it is not, so 5.9.0 is the latest for me and I presume many others.

It has been in the store since Dec.3rd, but probably is still in the beta version not available to everyone.
It doesn't have any new features, only "performance improvements and bug fixes" according to Play Store.

My remote climate start quit working. I have tried several times since yesterday. And it just spins or sometimes says remote start failed. Fordpass app is 5.9. Android 14 Galaxy S24 phone. I have rebooted phone. Toggled remote start setting in the car. The car state of charge and charging status is correct so I know the app gets data from my car. Any other ideas besides what I found here? thanks!!!

Working fine on my iPhone 16 Pro. @Kamuelaflyer is having the same problem you are.

What was your last update?

My last car software update 10.1.1. Is that what you are asking or last phone update? My phone got the Jan security patch update 3-4 days ago. Unsure if I used remote climate after that.

Working fine on my iPhone 16 Pro. @Kamuelaflyer is having the same problem you are.

What was your last update?

So I may have posted this elsewhere. I got on a call with a FordPass rep. She had me bring up FordPass in the App Store. I told her I showed up to date. She had me tap on the icon for the app and an update started. Never experienced this before. Then went to the car turned off connectivity, shut car down, opened door, turn back on and toggle connectivity back on. Everything working now.
