Has anyone tried replacing their air filter? I ordered one on Amazon. The replacement process seems straightforward.

I've not done it on this car yet, but have on others that use a similar process. It's very easy to do.

I’ve used the filter for a Lincoln before. While driving down a mountain highway on my daily work drive, the stink from tractor trailer brakes would be bad, using the filter for a Lincoln totally eliminated the smell.

I have changed out the air filter twice. It’s easy. Empty glove box, drop glove box out, open air filter housing, remove old filter, replace filter, close housing, reinstall glove box, refill glove box. ??

You would need to be VERY gentle with the tabs. Many of us have broken them and they are on the car side, so cannot be replaced.

I also agree w/ Lee about buying the premium fpp89 filter instead of the regular one. Living in the city where garages smell badly for most of the year, the premium filter is a godsend.

So did I. I couldn’t bend low enough to see what I was doing. By feel cost me 1 clip.

Do you have the part number for the Lincoln air filter?

I lost the part number, it was for my ‘21 that got totaled by the dealer . I think the difference was the charcoal activated, don’t get too fancy with the filter, I tried a filter with charcoal beads and a lower micron on my Lightning and my blower started making noises. Installed one with just activated charcoal and it worked fine.

When you do change it, write your initials and the date on it so when a dealer shows you a dirty air filter you know if it is yours or not. I’ve had it happen!
