Oh my. Well, as a eurotard I got this update yesterday (21’ job 2 in whisper L mode). Firstly; regardless if “intelligent” assist is on, predictive assist is on - in direct opposition of what the update notes claim.

Secondly, and holy sh*t! What did they do to cruise control in general? Regardless of tolerance settings, the car will hard brake in speed reduction zones, accelerate hard regardless of drive mode and if it’s a hilltop followed by downhill the car will go from acceleration to braking hard several times the same downhill. Before it seemed that +- 3 kmh was the limit before the brakes was engaged, now it’s 2 kmh which gives it too little margins and thus make the yoyo-driving worse than before.

What are you others experience about this? Anything that can be done to make CC a more pleasant experience?

It's been downloaded to me this morning. So much to look forward to...

We will be taking our kitty to the vet this morning for check ups etc. He hates being transported in the car at the best of times and cries all through the journey. :( I try to drive as though there is an egg on the bonnet and the idea is for it not to fall off. This "improvement" won't help that.

Nooo poor kitty :( Please report back whether you have the same experience, as speaking of eggs - maybe my pony came from a bad one? (Thus need more validations from others if this is the same experience).

Thanks for feedback. What software you have? Anything after this update? And what drive mode settings you use?

Sorry all questions, just trying to gauge if anything sticks out :)

I leave the Predictive speed off in my car. I found that when the highway changes speed the others around me dont, so although my car was doing what was correct, slowing or speeding up, since no one else was it was more dangerous. There are also some spots where the highway near me goes from 70mph to 50mph, but again traffic doesnt care.

Isn’t that the sign recognition? I just can’t seem to turn off speed assist when using sign recognition heh. Even if the update note says it’s the intelligent setting they controls this, predictive assist is on as long as sign recognition is on at my end :/

Yes I might have those mixed. I have my car always set to display the speed, and it blinks at me when going more than 5mph over, but the car does not adjust speed to match the speed signs.

The rest of BC 1.3 for me is great.

Speed sign recognition is not flawless. I think due to cameras ability to capture some signs. Examples:
1. Construction zone speed signs that are behind construction barriers, even if the signs are above the barriers.
2. Recognizing when construction zone speed limits end. Often a sign with smaller print than a speed number that states 'construction zone reduced speed ends' or another similar statement. My wife will tell me that the speed limit has increased but I haven't seen the 'end construction zone reduced speed ends' sign. This is not a problem vehicle manfacturers can resolve. It is required by State or municipal regulations to protect construction workers. (y)
3. Zones that adjust speed limit in the absence of speed signs. I'm not sure how this works but it happens on some of our roads. Cameras can't capture what doesn't exist.
4. When speed signs are 'hidden' behind another vehicle, particularly large semi-trucks.

By the way, these are reasons why I'm skeptical of full self-driving vehicle technology being applied on rural highways and freeways. Until devices that 'communicate' with vehicles are installed along roads of all types, I'm not supportive of full self-driving vehicles.

I hate and fully disabled it with FORScan. Ford needs to work on it and make it less aggressive.

What model yeah you have? If 21, maybe it’s our Ponnies that are too stupid to be predictable? ?

It is a 2021, but I have an F150. I don't have one of these in my household (yet). On my truck, I have newer IPMA software than what is available for you guys, and it still behaves too aggressively for my taste. Very easy 2-minute fix though:

IPMA (as built)

706-02-02

xxxx xxxx x0--

Just change that a zero, write the change and reboot the IPMA.

What that change does? Disables it or make it drive less like a lunatic?

It disables it entirely. I have found in my truck that even if you turn predictive speed off in the touchscreen, it still does it. I don't like it at all and I don't want it working at all. Until Ford improves the way it works, I prefer to manually lower the speed or just take over the wheel if I see a curve coming that I don't feel comfortable taking at 81mph than to let it do it for me.

What would been great was an option to chose whether it worked for both corners and signs, as well as tolerance values. As you mentioned, my car tried to enter a roundabout at 60 miles per hour while at the highway it slowed down by 20 miles per hour for a very wide corner that needed no brakes - not to mention the constant yoyo in the hills…
