I've heard a lot of people complain about all the functions on one stalk, but I also grew up with 90s GM vehicles and am very used to it. Those old GM cars even had the cruise control functions on the same stalk as well!
I can't say I grew up with much more than the turn signal and Cruise Control (On/Set - Off was the brake pedal switch) on the turn signal stalk. The high beam switch was on the floor (next to the clutch pedal and under the parking brake pedal). I can say that I've driven those kinds of cars and the controls were OK. I just don't see a column-mounted gear selector in any car with bucket seats. Just me. ?‍♂?

Eh, I don't think it's possible to accidentally activate the rear wiper more than I already do. I don't think the new wiper stalk would take much getting used to. One feature I would love to see on the Mach E wiper stalk is a light to let you know auto wiper is on. Much better than finding out you left it on when a stray sunbeam activates it.

How do you do a “one-time wipe” with that stalk? I’m used to just tapping down on the wiper stalk.

Along with the AC charge rate comes the new global target charge slider, which we knew was coming.
I am really hoping the new charge features come to older Mach Es. 2022. While I really want the charge rate slider, I suspect that older Mach Es may not have the hardware to support the charge rate slider. However, the timer functions our older cars should be able to take.

I don’t really care for many of the physical changes - the cluttered left stalk, ditching the dial shifter in favor of another crumb-collecting cubby, the smaller frunk - but the software enhancements are nice. I like the look of the new IPC and the extra charging data. I hope these make their way to older models soon!!

So has the charging speed / curve improved at all? Any improvement to the range, battery capacity, or acceleration of the premium awd extended?

'80s and '90s GM vehicles had a similar array of functions on the stalk: Turn signal, wipers, washer, high/low beam, cruise control. I even drove a car that had all of the headlight functions on the turn signal stalk (On/Off/Auto, along with High/Low). Talk about a cluster of functions...??
Sounds pretty Bougie. A friend of mine had a Bic pen jammed in the steering column he used for the turn signal stalk...

Do the 2025's have an LFP battery?
Is that why Ford recommends charging to 100% once a month?
If you have an early Mach-E it has a lithium-iON battery. If I remember correctly charging to 100% isn't a good idea unless you need the range.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Standard range has had LFP batteries since late 2023 I believe. Definitely since 2024.

Extended range and GT keeps NMC battery that is recommended to charge to 90% or less.

LOL my Blazer has a chrome plated steel rod that’ll support 50 pounds suspended from its tip as a turn signal lever. No, I don’t hang my grocery bags from it. ??

How do you select "L" for more regen? I don't see that on the new gear shifter.
That's a great question! I've somewhat recently transitioned from 1PD (too aggressive motor braking for my taste) to using L as my preferred "gear". Removing the option of using L in 2PD might just be the straw for me.
