I can't say I grew up with much more than the turn signal and Cruise Control (On/Set - Off was the brake pedal switch) on the turn signal stalk. The high beam switch was on the floor (next to the clutch pedal and under the parking brake pedal). I can say that I've driven those kinds of cars and the controls were OK. I just don't see a column-mounted gear selector in any car with bucket seats. Just me. ?I've heard a lot of people complain about all the functions on one stalk, but I also grew up with 90s GM vehicles and am very used to it. Those old GM cars even had the cruise control functions on the same stalk as well!
