This happened on two successive days last week. I noticed it immediately as I was pulling out of my driveway. A red bar indicating I was too close to the car in front of me when I was backing out of my driveway, and off and on for the first 2-3 miles when there were no cars in front. Fortunately, driver assistance/collision assistance didn't decide to slam on the brakes. Both days were unusually hot (for us, upper 80s-90F), so possibly related to that? But there are a lot of hotter places (e.g., TX, AZ, FL), so wondering if others have seen this.

The car was pretty clean at the time and I checked the cameras. Not sure how to check the lidar. And once the weather cooled down a few degrees, the pattern stopped and after driving a few miles as well. So my suspicion is temperature related but there have been warm spells where that didn't happen. It might get warm again next week. It would be good to narrow down which of the sensors (if any), as people have had trouble with the cams.

Does adaptive cruise control work? It maintains spacing or not?

You could have a problem with the radar sensor between the grille shutters. Make sure it's not blocked by an aftermarket license plate holder. Otherwise what happens is the front radar bracket can break due to bumping the nose on something.

I'll try ACC, haven't used it much lately. But the problem went away (for now).
