I get your point, but I would also have to include the cost of the very first charge. I did not include the initial charge from the dealer. So, I had to include my last charge to get it to 90%. Assuming the dealer charged to 90%, then it should be about right, a wash, no?
And if it is, then...
Aha, so in stead on *(1+.12) i did /(1-.12) - gotcha.

Great point - and I don't waste money (or my wife rather) on damn lottery tickets and candy for the kids, and other convenience store items. It all adds up... :)
Re the power draw from the house (source), does the car know this? I guess not. The EVSE should know it, or seems like it could at least know it. I guess this kind of data is the value-add of some of the higher end EVSEs.
Well, I live outside of Houston, so electricity is pretty cheap - well, it was until the deep freeze last February completely blew the grid and power markets in Texas... It's still below the national average here, but getting more expensive, the consumers will have to pay for that debacle...
Am i computing this correctly?
Charging log says 58% charged. I charge to 90%, so, 88kWh battery * .9 *.58 = 45.92 kWh added
That part is about right, eh.
Now, since I added ~46 kWh, does that mean I drew ~46 KWh from my house power, is is 1 to 1?
If so, then @ 11.6 cents per hour, this...
Well Car & Driver awarded the Mach-e their EV of the Year award. and the poll at the end has the Mach-e ahead, 60/40, in spite of the considerably negative review, so... these guys just hate that it's badged a Mustang and a GT. I get it. Imagine if they called it the FordEcoSport GT instead...
All right then, I went with the bumper plugs, from bumperplugs.com. The fit great, and match close enough, if you look for them, of course you can find them, but they do a pretty good job of blending in/disappearing. Problem solved. Thanks everyone for your help.
if you want to feel better about the review, go read some of the Tesla forums, those guys are pissed at Edmonds! Lol. They are as surprised as all of us at the final verdict, after the GTPE crushes out every category.
I thought this was a great review! Mach-E wins every category, except 'many laps at the track'.
The ONLY downside of this review is that obnoxious Tesla owners will never let us forget the 5 seconds...Sigh.
And it does come down to expectations I guess. I have no connection to the Mustang...
Interesting, they wrote back and said several people have asked for this color, and they're putting together a little cartel for a custom job. Wonder if it's Mach-e owners or Bronco drivers? Maybe a combination. Pricey but easy I reckon.
Thanks for the great responses. I do live in Texas which does require the front plate, but I started looking and 85% or more of Teslas aren't sporting them, and now that I'm paying attention, plenty of cars, esp fancy ones, go without, at least here around Houston. So, I plan to live on the...
So, I took the front license plate bracket off (that my dealer put on). The car looks SO MUCH better... But! There are three little drill holes in my front fascia. Shoot. I guess a little silicon and some matched paint? Maybe even just an orange sharpie? Can anyone suggest how to make these...
Yes, I get that, it's easy to make it hit the gray bars if that's what your after. What I am asking about is in spirited driving on an interesting public road, the twisties, do you notice it a lot and does it drive you totally crazy, or does it not much come into play in this driving use case.
Tks for the input - I guess I'd like to see a real world driving comparison of the GTPE, the Y Perf, and the Polestar 2 w/ Perf in a situations like twisties and hill climbs and see how it plays out. Maybe someone will make this someday.
I haven't been watching Kyle for very long, but i think it's clear from his GTPE review out in SF that he was SUPER EXCITED for the GTPE, his expectations were so high, and that he had every intention of buying one for himself. Re-watch the vid. He was SO STOKED for Unbridled Extend, he thought...
