Just under 2 weeks ago (21 August), I noticed that my MY21 Mach-E First Edition ER AWD had downloaded an update that introduced Predictive Speed Assist. Driving onto the M4 that same day, I was very surprised to find the instrument cluster go blue and for Blue Cruise to be activated. Last Friday...
My car downloaded a software update on Saturday night. I can now open the frunk using my key fob. It's so much more convenient than opening the passenger door to pull the lever.
So, the remote frunk release should be activated by a future software update? That's great news. Being able to open the frunk remotely would be so much more convenient than having to use the mechanical release on the passenger side. I'd wrongly assumed that early MY21 only had a mechanical frunk...
I've just had my keys replaced with the new ones.
I'm disappointed that the frunk button doesn't do anything on my MY21 First Edition.
Still, at least the new keys are much easier to distinguish from the keys to my wife's Kuga.
Ironically, I originally had an Ohme Home Pro installed, but obtained a refund because it never worked properly and eventually stopped working altogether.
Unfortunately, something has gone wrong with the Octopus software so that neither Octopus nor I can unlink the Mach-E!
While it worked, the...
I've now received yet another email from Octopus stating they can't disconnect my car from their end either! In the meantime, I'm quite happy using my Zappi in Eco+ mode to schedule charging from 2330 to 0600, with the car limiting the charge to 80%.
I received another email from Octopus stating "I have been discussing the account with the smart tariff team and it is recommended, due to the defect, that you unlink your current car as a device. This will then allow you to complete the onboarding back on to the tariff as you would have done...
I got a response to my email complaint to Octopus. They say "This does appear to be a known issue that is appearing lately for other customers". At their suggestion, I disabled smart charging in the Octopus app for the time being and instructed the MyEnergi app to charge the Mach-E between 11:30...
We used to reckon on about 40-50% depreciation over the first three years, so that sounds about right. I think we got fooled by the inflated second-hand prices post-COVID.
I hope you enjoy your new Tesla.
Octopus customer service seems pretty hopeless. I've had two customer service team members tell me they've messaged the smart charging team to ask them to disconnect my device, saying it would take about 15 minutes. I spoke to a third customer service team member this morning, who insisted that...
It's just not you. I'm now getting similar issues, even though I wasn't before.
That's what I was told yesterday. That they would disconnect the Mach-E at their end and I would then need to onboard it again. However, it's 24 hours later, it hasn't been disconnected from their end and I can't...
I phoned Octopus again. The person I spoke to said he'd escalate it so they'll disconnect my Mach-E from their end. That will allow me to reconnect the Mach-E and that will hopefully fix the problem.
I'm also having problems now. The Zappi was working perfectly with Octopus Intelligent Go. Then I started getting emails from Octopus saying " We've lost control of your device - please reconnect through the Octopus app". There's no option to reconnect the device in the Octopus app, but there is...
My Mach-E has just been done. I dropped it off at 0800 yesterday, it was ready to be picked up at 1230 today.
One of the things I like about having an EV is that every time I take it to the garage, it comes back fully charged. I don't remember any garage topping up my car with petrol when I had...
Oh wow, I've seen that before - that different model years can have different versions of the software and can therefore exhibit different behaviour. My Mach-E is a 2021.
I've not seen that behaviour. My max charge level is set to 100% in the FordPass app. If I plug my car in, IO will charge it to 80% overnight by default. It doesn't try to charge beyond 80% even if I leave it plugged in for several days.
It's always charged overnight as intended, as far as I know, just as the Ohme did before.
I read that Octopus sometimes add extra IO slots if the grid is under-used and they can buy cheap electricity. Maybe that's what you're seeing?
I see what you mean. You're right that IO connects directly to the Mach-E.
When I set up IO with the Zappi, I selected integration with the electric vehicle as recommended on the Myenergi website at zappi & Intelligent Octopus Go – Help Centre GB (myenergi.com). I had to provide Octopus with my...
The Ohme doesn't support vehicle integration with the Mach-E, as far as I know. When I had an Ohme Home Pro, I configured Octopus Intelligent Go to use charger integration with the Ohme. I'd create an overnight charging schedule using the Ohme app (not the Octopus app), e.g. add 40% by 8 am. It...
