I mean that this is the same thing Tesla does, to the dismay of the previous poster.
Tesla: Autopilot -- pesters you to put hands on the wheel; FSD -- no pestering
Ford: Hands-on mode -- pesters you to put hands on the wheel; Hands-free mode -- no pestering
Both companies' products will also...
No. No US (or state) regulatory authority "approves" hands-free Level 2 driving systems. Where are you seeing regulatory approval for BlueCruise?
Ford and Tesla are doing exactly the same thing in this regard.
Doesn't Ford do exactly the same thing? It's the difference between BlueCruise and BlueCruise Hands-Free (or whatever they call it these days) -- with nag and without nag.
I am no Tesla fan, but it isn't just them.
Thanks for the report!
What kinds of complaints are you still getting? (I too have a back seat passenger who is a frequent complainer, and I am considering some of these upgrades.)
Sure, there's a market for industrial robots. But it's already a fairly mature, $50 Billion market, with no obvious need for more competitors such as Tesla. How does a latecomer like Tesla steal profitable market share from better-established Chinese companies? I don't see it.
Presumably you mean "second-largest"?
No doubt you are right that there is little real communism left in their economy. Or their government, for that matter.
Sure, but can they match or surpass? Tesla implemented gigacasting in production in 2020. Ford is now hoping to do so by 2027. If Ford is to be competitive, they can't just wait to see what Tesla does and copy it years later. They need to innovate and develop faster.
Maybe they can do it...
I wish Ford well, but this sounds like they're mainly just planning to copy stuff that Tesla did years ago -- reducing fasteners, shortening wiring, "gigacasting".
This does not inspire confidence. Unless they come up with some actual new ideas of their own, I don't see how Ford will become...
I like the car, so I kept it and paid Ford their blood money.
I had Ford Options, not a real lease, but the purchase option was similar. The price was pretty close to market value, maybe a bit less than market.
What's the 4IX? I've driven the i4 and the iX, but never heard of this one. I liked the i4, and considered getting one, but decided to keep the old Mustang instead.
