I kind of liked the i4. I drove the i4 M50, which is much quicker off the line to 60 mph -- 3.3 seconds -- than my GT. Your brother must have one of the lower trim levels. It's not so pretty as the Mustang, but I've seen uglier.

I'd say both GM and Ford will continue to behave based on which way they see the political winds blowing.
Neither manufacturer has any real belief in the superiority or inherent goodness of EVs. Nor does Tesla, for that matter. But they all have fervent belief in government subsidies and...
Such statements are more public relations than real commitment.
That one was foolish, but GM continues to stand by it. So far.

I'm not sure I agree. Tesla does have some cool software stuff. But nothing that I actually care about or would use much, afaik. All in all, I prefer the Ford with Android Auto.
