I did not park my MME in the garage, I do not park my Tesla in the garage.
The possibility of a battery fire in an EV is very low, but it is not zero
My garage has fire sprinklers that would put out a fire if one of my ICE's catch fire.
The sprinklers will not put out an EV fire.
Don't listen...
My advice is to buy a Tesla.
Ford is losing so much money on EV's and warranty repair costs, they are absolutely not going to budge on giving you any consideration for any out of warranty work. That directive comes straight from Farley himself.
Ask for your $600 back, that is the best you will...
I have said it before and I will say it again. EPA rated mileage on the window stickers for EV's should be rated for both Summer & Winter, just like ICE's are rated city & highway.
That would go a long way in clearing up this issue
Unless you have experience dealing with large fires, I would suggest you not try to deal with it in any way.
In my experience, most people panic when dealing with a fire , even small fires, and yell & scream while running around like a chicken with it's head cut off and are of no use.
I had...
When I test drove a Tesla, I showed up, the salesman gave me a primer on the controls, helped me adjust the mirrors, seat, etc, , and I drove away, the salesman did not go with me and I drove the car for an hour. After I got back, i asked a few technical questions and the salesman was able to...
You are not the first one to excuse Ford's bad performance by calling this "new technology"
However, it should be pointed out this is not new technology. It may be new to Ford, but Tesla has been making EV's for over 10 years.
All the known issue with EV's was there freely available to learn...
Eventually there will be aftermarket batteries, more powerful motors, high power VFD's, etc., for people who want to mod their EV's
for amateur racers, You will be able to buy kits to install, just like how you can buy a crate 800 HP IC engine from dodge. you will be able to buy crate motors...
I am still not wrong
@Ford Motor Company could do so much to help improve communication between the end users and Ford
But really, what are they going to say? its not like they will actually say they don't care.
But their actions say it for them
Here is my last ICE car w/ 300,000 miles. 2015 Tahoe that I traded in on the MME in 2021.
No issues with the car at all.
Engine was still as strong as ever.
Still ran great.
My MME only went 123,000 miles before I traded it in 3 years and 2 days after I bought it
I had the same thing happen to me in 2022 for probably a month, and it was right after an OTA update.
I was using the Ford navigation and it showed I was driving right over houses in a neighborhood next to the freeway. I switched to the apple maps using carplay and it was doing the exact same...
You are in good company
