Well, today I lost confidence/trust in the MachE PaaK and backup entry system, pretty thoroughly.
So I've been using PaaK pretty successfully for at least a year. I have a door code and backup code and have tested both successfully in the past.
This last week, I left the MachE at the airport...
Thats nuts. Beside the fact that I have been on roads it works on exactly twice and it kept cutting out, I really don't even see much benefit from this stuff.
If I have to keep my eyes on the road (lest ye be nagged), it means I cannot do anything else (which I accept as this is level 2). So...
Add a datapoint - in the last 2 days, PaaK went from being 97% reliable for me to 0. It just won't work - not walking up to car (thankful I had my backup codes), not in the car and not even when the phone is sitting in the "magic wireless charger" spot.
Rebooted the phone, the car, toggled...
Pixel 6/Job 1 and use PAAK daily.
Setting PAAK up is unnecessarily complicated. And updating it when you switch phones is byzantine (both times, I've basically deleted/reset all phone data for ALL phones in the car to start over).
Once setup though, I'd say that it works absolutely perfect...
I wonder if Tesla would ever allow selling (or 3rd party) adapters to CCS drivers?
While I love that they are refitting many of their stations, it's going to take some time and likely not going to cover 100% of existing chargers.
Just like Tesla people have an adapter to use CCS DCFC places...
Howdy,
Often use Waze via Android Auto for navigation, especially in areas where I'm not familiar. It's great, but it runs my battery down and heats my phone up, even when attempting to charge the phone at the same time. It's an acceptable trade-off for being able to have Waze do it's routing...
Okay - figured it out. It's that Waze hasn't been updated yet.
So if you use Google Maps, it will go into 3-panel mode OR full screen mode. So it absolutely is possible, just not with Waze yet :-(
Tapping the Waze circular icon on the bottom doesn't change the size or anything else about the waze/nav display. Taping on some other icon (like settings) does split the screen evenly into 2 parts with Waze on top and the other button on the bottom. But when in the "3-panel" layout pressing...
I've tried all those options - tapped every button on the car screen and in the android auto app and nothing seems to be able to control this.
As mentioned, one exception is on the car, going into the Android Auto Settings "App" does go to full screen and pushes the info in the normal lower-two...
I do think that overall, this UI change is an improvement. And sometimes, removing something that was preventing forward momentum isn't a bad thing (but will always be unpopular with some).
I think they are heading in the right direction. I especially love the camera button up top and wish...
Yep - I expected it's android auto related and primarily from there. But in the course of a number of hours of running down leads, one was that the android auto gets a "hint" about splitting screens from the car itself (the head-end implementation).
I'm not saying that is the only option...
Since the recent Android Auto update (and 4.1.2 on the car), the Android Auto "screen" is split into 3 panels - one larger and two smaller. Which means I now have a much smaller "nav" screen (Waze, for me) than before and two extra panels I have no interest in.
I've been looking around for...
This is unfortunate to hear.
I have 3 of the base GrizzlE chargers (no wifi) and recommended them to two other folks. So far no problems, feels like a tank (solid/simple metal build) and slips right into the charge ports on the MachE, the MB EQS, a friend Lightning and my 2019 Bolt (aka...
Thanks, but no traffic (and this even happens on my annoyingly early airport trips at 4:30AM when it's me and the deer). I've explicitly cleared every restriction (including the ones on ferrys) and will try to route again and see if that helps.
The odd thing is, once in a while, it will use the obvious road/routing.
But at least 75% of the time, it'll try to turn a 2-3 mile trip into a 45 mile trip (and around here, you really don't have more than 2 options - just that one is so out-of-the-way, that most would really say there is only...
Curious is anyone else has been having wildly inaccurate nav routing, especially shortly after starting the car?
We live on a peninsula and as such, there is really only one main road in/out and one really out of the way means around it.
The machE knows where it is (GPS is fine), but when...
Has anyone else had issues with automatically refreshing? If I launch the widgets app and request a refresh, it generally works fine. But I have it set to auto-refresh every 15 minutes and that never seems to happen. Android 11 on a S21+ Ultra running latest version of the widget.
Beyond...
I did move around as I've run into flaky chargers before with my Bolt. Didn't seem to change anything (I tried 2 at opposite ends of the bank of 8). I suppose the entire install could be having problems and I recognize this is a sample size of 1 (I really never fast charge - charge at home and...
