Same thing happend to my fin, except it was my fault. The fin is held on by a bolt and a X shaped metal bracket. I pulled the headliner down and removed the bold and unconnected the 2 wires. This allowed me to pull the fin off the car. Inside the fin is that cast metal that cracks instead of...
I got an OTA labeled PT-25.12.14, which the release notes state "provides a remedy for Saftey Recall 25S65" on Nov 7th. Ford app still says my recall is still incomplete, with a "campaign" node of 25S65/25V404. Does that imply that I still have to take it to the dealer to get the 25V404? Any...
The plug at the end on the right has failed both times I've tried it, and that is with several months in between attempts. I suspect it has major issues with other vehicles as well since it's always open when all the others are in use.
This is good news. We desperately need more chargers nationwide. Hopefully the new charger locations will help solve the "charging desert" problems that exist along state highways and other areas.
Sorry about that. I see that dashcam has a micro-USB port on it. I too have a dashcam with a micro-USB port on it. Such an old port format. I suspect they still use those still because 5v, 2A is not an officially supported mode. Most folks threw out all their micro-USB cords years ago. You...
A hardware replacement for a camera could involve new firmware on the camera module. The new firmware could introduce new communications on the vehicle bus that cause unintended consequences unless tested properly.
A second scenario: perhaps the camera module part was sitting on the shelf for 2...
I have a stealth hitch 1.5" that I installed at home. I got a 1up Quick rack to ferry the bike around with. Got an extra adapter from them that lets me use the rack on my Ram2500 2.5" receiver as well.
I have an old 2 bike sport works rack that unfortunately can't hold my 2.5" tire MTB bike...
I have a 2023 GT PE that had the HVBJB fail. Yes, those model years should have the "improved" HVBJB installed in the factory. Not sure why my car was unlucky.
I was lucky that the HVBJB fault codes that prevent the car from driving happened in my garage when I started the car. It did take...
Too bad no one has reverse engineered the can-bus codes for the tailgate. Adding a little microcontroller behind that hatch button to send the open/close code would be a lot less invasive.
And yes, I'm too lazy to reverse engineer them myself.
When it's >110 outside, any amount of direct sun feels oppressive. It really triggers a strong "I gotta find shade, now!" reaction. The 1% or so of IR energy that gets through the glass roof is too much (at least for me). My sun shade stays up from May-Oct.
I don't recommend using the EA chargers at the premium outlets. They triggered a charging fault in my Mach E that prevented me from charging anywhere else on my way home. I learned this can happen and there is a special reset sequence required in the car to be able to charge again unless you...
I wonder if there will ever be a day where one could swap out these components to enhance the performance and remove this limit. I'm sure this would require lots of software changes, so unless Ford releases the info under any "right to repair" requirement or someone reverse engineers the...
@markboris - thanks for the instructions. I finally took the time to do this and it solve the stupid rattle that has been bothering me for over a year.
It's not anything close to your issue, but I'm on the April Pixel security update version and Fordpass 5.17.0 and a Pixel 8 Pro. My PAAK fails to connect probably about 1 out of 5 times I approach the car now. It used to be rock solid. :(
Someone should make an aftermarket UWB module + app...
Door pin and password to start the car has saved my bacon several times due to flakey PAAK. They should keep the door keypad and pin to start on all PAAK vehicles until they move to a PAAK technology that is flawless (UWB maybe).
I can't imagine the BOM cost of the capacitive touch door pin...
Don't forget that in some regions (Atlanta for example), the "HOV" lates were converted to High Occupancy Toll (HOT) lanes that lets 1 or 2 person vehicles pay to drive in them. Also motorcycles are allowed in HOV lanes. Those are rarely 2 person vehicles :)
I sometimes wonder if work from...
