  1. First road trip questions - planning charging stops

How do you do this? My FordPass app isn't the most reliable thing. (I don't think in the one month of using it the map ever loaded.) Is there a way to do this in the actual car?
  2. Bjorn Nyland's Geilo (Norway) Winter Performance Test

Yeah, I'm wondering the same. It might at least get people above this mid 30s charging speed I keep seeing.
  3. Bjorn Nyland's Geilo (Norway) Winter Performance Test

Still don't think it's EA. He turned off the E heat. Apparently that warms the battery faster. If this is true, we need more people testing that.
  4. Mach-E First Edition - First Impressions on 300 mile road trip.

Which is why Ford pushing out an update for the ability to heat the battery is pretty important to me.
  5. Mach-E First Edition - First Impressions on 300 mile road trip.

Here's a video about how fast you actually have to drive to warm a battery. It's with the ID3. Exact temps are probably different for the Mach-E, but the idea is the same.
  6. Mach-E First Edition - First Impressions on 300 mile road trip.

The BMW i3 and Kona? Or Niro? Maybe both? They have a battery heater that preconditions. However, they only warm the battery up to like 55/60ish F. It's enough to warm the battery so your cold weather range is closer to your warm weather range. Unfortunately, not really enough to get peak fast...
  7. Tesla to get access to $7,000 tax credit on 400,000 more electric cars in the US with new incentive reform

I'll be honest. This with the price cut on the SR MY has me thinking. I've driven both cars, they're both great. MME has a nicer ride, in my opinion, though.
  8. Mach-E First Edition - First Impressions on 300 mile road trip.

I highly doubt this is an EA issue. Audi E-Tron gets 150. Porsche gets 270. This particular charger may have been at fault, but I still think the underlying issue is Ford. You can't expect EA to change their software for every type of car. They put out their specs and now Ford has to conform to...
  9. GA Annual Licensing Fee?!

In Michigan the fee is $300-$390 on your registration. At 18 cents a gallon, you could buy 100 gallons a month for the entire year and still pay less in taxes. But it's worth it to me!
  10. My First Test Drive

Do yourself a favor and drive a Tesla Model Y. If for no other reason than to compare. Tesla makes some good cars with impressive technology. It seems silly to not even ride in one if you're seriously considering going electric.
  11. RWD vs. AWD

Don't put her in a GT! ? Nice to hear this though. I ordered a ER RWD and have only driven a SR AWD. The more I hear though, the more I think I should have went with AWD.
  12. Bjorn livestream of Mach-E range test

My car is great. It's one of the most efficient EVs on the market. Better than Tesla. It just has a tiny battery. It makes complete sense why they say no to 100% fast charging. But it sounds as if you already go somewhere that you'll need to charge over 80%. If that is the case, as you...
  13. Bjorn livestream of Mach-E range test

This is the argument I'm all for. Make is taper at 90ish%. My hope, and it is a hope, is that Ford will adjust once they have a bunch of real world information at their fingertips. It might take 6-12 months. Once they get some good information about how their batteries are doing in the real...
  14. Bjorn livestream of Mach-E range test

Okay, I think this statement is ridiculous. No EV recommends charging to 100%. None. Why are you holding the Mach-E to a higher standard? My current EV won't even let you charge to 100%. It stops at 94%. I'm honestly okay with slowing down at 80%. Will there be times you need more than 80%...
  15. Trouble with DC charging stations

There's a pretty good video, I'll find it in a bit and edit this post, but it's of a ID3 in Europe. The guy drives at 130 kmh, which is around 80 mph and the battery temperature decreases. It's not until he gets it up to around 160 kmh or 100 mph that the battery starts to increase in...
  16. Trouble with DC charging stations

That is correct. Same with Porsche. I'm assuming Ford will do the same.
  17. Trouble with DC charging stations

I hate to keep harping on this. This is not a station issue. The battery is cold. Plain and simple. There might be some outliers on the station front, but I don't think it's in the station side. Until Ford gets a way to warm the battery up, it will continue To be an issue. Only Tesla and Porsche...
  18. How to Enable Plug & Charge in 7 Steps

Greenlots was a charging company that I avoided because none of their chargers ever seemed to work. Shell bought them a year ago or so. I haven't used them, but there around.
  19. Plug & Charge Fail and the 80% Cliff is Real

There's not as many chargers as I would like. But don't forget about the granny charger either. 3-5 miles an hour is 30-50 miles overnight. Might be enough to get you somewhere. Or not. Depends on your situation. And Plugshare is peer sourced! If you know of a charger that isn't on it, add it...
