MODS - SUSPENSION / CHASSIS
In an effort to slightly lower the car, I installed the GT version springs. This dropped the car 1/2" but what I was not expecting was the ride. The constant bouncing I had in the rear was reduced but not gone. I decided to go all the way and replace the front struts and rear shock with the GT versions. With the slightly lowered suspension and the slightly larger tires I put on, I was able to reduce the large gap in the wheel well.
MODS - WHEELS / TIRES / BRAKES
This is a 5000 lb car and it needs a much larger/wider set of wheels and tires. I am not concerned at all about range on this car so loosing 10%-15% is not a problem. The OEM 225/55/19 tires are terrible at handling and are only on the car to gain maximum range. The OEM wheels are narrow at 19"x7" and are heavy. I had Terrance at Signature Wheels build me a set of Precision Series SV706 wheels in gloss black. I went with a staggered setup of 20"x8.5" up front and 20"x10" in the rear. I have been a Michelin guy for many years and their Pilot series are my favorite. I went with the Pilot Sport 4 SUV 255/45/20's up front and 295/40/20's in the rear.

This completely changed the way the car handles. It feels so much more planted and the steering is much sharper compared to the vagueness it had before. These tires are also quieter and have a higher load rating. Even though I went with much larger wheels and tires, I saved a total of 15 lbs weight (unsprung) since the Signature wheels were much lighter than the OEM wheels.

Painted the gray area on all four rotors satin black so they would look better behind black wheels.
MODS - EXTERIOR
Removed front license plate bracket and replaced with body colored plugs. Replaced the gloss black fender mouldings with ones I had painted Infinite Blue. Removed the Mach-E badges on the doors. Tinted all the reflectors with 20% film. Replaced rear license plate with a Reviver electronic license plate. Removed frunk divider. Drilled two 2" access holes (then capped them) above the LVB positive and negative connections in the frunk per Dan's DIY. Eliminated the Pedestrian Audio Alert sound and back up beeping by replacing the speaker with a resistor. Rewired the pony puddle lamps to come on anytime a door is open or the car is remotely unlocked. All exterior paint treated with Ceramic Pro 9H ceramic coating.
MODS - INTERIOR
Windshield and glass roof 70%, front door windows 50%, rear door and hatch windows 20%. Replaced factory floor mats with Lloyds Ultimat mats in the front, rear and cargo area. Completely sound deadened the interior with both Dynamat and Dynaliner in the doors, floor, cargo area and rear quarter panels. Added ambient lighting in the rear door storage area to match the lighting in the front doors. I only use the ice blue color for my ambient lighting so installed ice blue LED's in the rear doors. Had Exclusive Steering custom make a steering wheel all leather with space gray trim in the lower section and space gray stitching. Added NAVIKS motion lockout bypass device. Added shade for glass roof from Tesmanian and a full canvas protection setup for the rear cargo carpet from CanvasBack. Added hatch release button in the inside of the car at the front of the console just below the subwoofer remote volume control. Added a wireless phone charger mount under armrest.
MODS - IN-CAR ELECTRONICS
Replaced OEM sub with a JL Audio 400 watt powered sub and installed it in the lower cargo area under the floor. Added a remote volume control for the sub at the front of the console.
MODS - SOFTWARE / TUNE / PROGRAMMER
Disabled double honk when car is on and you get out with the key fob or phone in your pocket.

Assuming you are going with 255/45/20 tires, you will want a wheel width between 8"-9" with 8.5" be optimum. The OEM offset is +47 and anything between 40 - 47 would be good. If you run an offset of 40 (my recommendation) the tires would stick out about 1/2" further than they do now and would look better being more flush with the wheel well opening.

Definitely will! Checked out the Atomics, but the selection is really limited. Any others you would recommend?
Not for fully forged. Email Atomic and ask them if they can custom make other wheels they have for your Mach-E. If not then next would be Flow-Formed aluminum wheels which are next best. They are still lighter than OEM but not by much.

Good call. I talked to them, and they are flexible! Do you think the gloss black looks better then the satin black on the Mach-E premium?

Yes, I would go with gloss black since all the trim on the car is that too. I think the satin would look out of place.

Perfect, since the one I like is in gloss black lol. Do you have a video or instructions posted somewhere that shows how to disable the double honk when I get out of the car with my phone in my pocket by chance?

It looks like the Atomic's for the Mach-E are all 9" width. Will that be okay or should I look for 8.5"?

I hope I'm not hijacking this thread with a question, apologies if this is bad form! What would you recommend as the quietest, most comfortable tire? I have an Awd premium with aftermarket 19x8 wheels. I've been using the Pilot Sport All Season 4 in a 245/50/19 size. To be honest, I don't need performance as much as I want a quiet and comfortable ride. I've seen a few threads on here, but hoping you can provide some advice. Any input you have is much appreciated.

Hi Kim, I've heard the Vredstein Quatrac Pro+ are great tires and very quiet and comfortable, but I would wait and see what Mark says.

You can go with 9" but I would recommend 265/45/20 instead of the 255's. That is up two sizes from OEM which is just fine. Several members are running that size. 265's work better for a 9" wide wheel and those Pirelli Scorpion Zero AS Plus 3's are available in that size too. They have a load rating of 108 which means you can safely run the tires at 33 psi which will give you a much smoother ride (not so harsh). However running at that pressure your range will go down a bit if you are on the highway. My tires have a 107 load rating so I run them at 35 psi all the time for a nice ride but when I go on a trip and want MAX range I pump them up to 40 psi. My vote is to get the 9" wide wheel with 265's and that will be a nice meaty setup.

Hi Kim, you are not hijacking this thread. However we should take all of these questions off to a DM instead of on the comment section of my cars. But we can continue for a bit here.

Dennis is correct! The Vredestein Quatrac Pro+ is a grand touring all season tire that is probably one of the quietest, smoothest riding tires on the market. One of the members here, Brian, swears by them and he sells all kinds of tires! I would not look at any other tire if that is your main want in a tire.

Vredestein makes the Quatrac Pro+ in the 245/50/19 size you are wanting but they also make it in the 255/50/19 which will work just fine on the 8" wheel. If you stick with the 245's that load racing is 105 and you can run those at 37 psi but going with the 255's you can run them at 35 psi giving you even a smoother ride. That would be my recommendation. Let me know if you have any more questions!

Thanks for the info! Does going from a 255 to a 265 wide tire give me any other pros/cons beside a bit of range loss?

The Speedo will show 1/2 to 1 mph slower than you are actually going. No big deal. Most Mach-E’s show 1 mph faster than they are going anyway.

Mark, If I decided to go with the Mach-E GT wheels, 2021-2024 MUSTANG MACH-E 20" WHEEL KIT - BLACK GLOSS | Accessories | Ford.com what size tires would you recommend since they are 8" width?

Ford uses 245/45/20 tires on those 8" wheels because that is the perfect size. However, you can go up once size if you want to 255/45/20. Many here have done that for a slightly softer ride because not only is the sidewall slightly taller but you can run the tires at 37 psi and still have the proper load capacity. Also being also slightly wider they will look a touch better. Your speedo will barely be 1/2 mph slower but since the Mach-E speedo usually runs about that much faster it will be almost perfectly accurate.

Thanks for the info! I assume the GT wheels are not forged and significantly heavier than the Atomic forged wheels?

I believe the Factory GT wheels are right around 32 lbs while as the Atomic wheels would be around 24 lbs. You can ask Steve (Huntingpudel) as he has a set of atomic wheels. But his are 20x9.5 so probably heavier than the ones you would be getting if you are going with wheels between 8"-9".

Yes I do. They are fully forged meaning they are stronger and lighter but of course more expensive. Forged aluminum wheels are the best next to a carbon fiber wheel which of course is prohibitively expensive.

That's what I thought, but Steve (Huntingpudel) said they are a challenge to keep clean.

Keeping them clean has nothing to do with them being fully forged aluminum. It is because his wheels are all gloss black and a busy design with lots of spokes. Any wheel that looks like that will be difficult to keep clean. Every wheel gets dirty. If there are a lot so spokes, it takes a lot longer to clean.

Sorry, I meant going with gloss black vs satin. I think you said the gloss black would go better with my car.

Yes well, your car being a premium like the GT's have all gloss trim and satin wheels would look a little out of place. The Select model Mach-E has all satin trim so satin wheels would work with that one.

Hey Mark,
Is there a good way to get this car up onto jack stands since there are only 4 small areas to lift the car?

You don’t have to lift the car up on the exact spot of the jack points. You can be several inches on either side. Take your floor jack and lift up the car about 4 inches towards the inside of any of the jack points then put the jack stand right under the jack point.
