Just had the car in for its 2 year service nothing wrong with the car it sailed through, but the doors are rustingon the top where the window is, my dealership said actually it’s a common fault ( in Europe) but it is normally at the bottom of the doors.
They are going to to respect it I just hope they get a colour match ( it’s all four doors)
Bit disappointing really.

I drove a 2021 space white for four years, it was always parked outside in dutch weather and it looked pristine when I turned it in last month. I've never heard of this problem over here in NL.

Some I understand from my dealer it’s the 23 models that seem to have the problem

I have seen similar pictures of MMEs in both North America and Europe. It does not appear to be rust, but of something curdling the paint from underneath, likely either a contaminant or something in one of the primary coats that didn't fully cure prior to the top coat curing fully. 🤔🐩

I have extensive experience with aluminum panels on aircraft in East coast Florida. That appears to be Filiform Corrosion. It needs to be stripped, all corrosion removed and treated prior to being repainted.

Familiar with this from our Airstream trailer. Also, it's a common problem on Chrysler Pacificas generally on the front edge of the (aluminum) hood.

Oops--All see that someone posted that the doors are not aluminum...

I have another thread posted here with pictures. It is definitely a problem on 23s. It’s a problem that appears on other other Fords over the last few decades. There is actually a TSB out. I’m in the process of having it addressed. Please note, that at least with my 2023, the doors are steel.

It's happened on the inside seam on the bottom of 2 of my doors of my 2021 model. One has been repainted before this issue was generally known. I'm waiting to see how bad my other door(s)? get.

Well, well, well. The gift that keeps on giving. :headbang: The previously repainted rear door seam has now got the same bubbling effect under the paint. It was repainted under warranty before the TSB was issued. Will I get it repainted under theTSB or will I have to pay for it. Or shall I just sell the damn thing and get a cheaper more well equipped Chinese car? Honestly, a Chinese car can't be any worse?

Place your bets folks...

Can you send some pics and maybe describe specifically what they did to repair? I ask because I will be scheduled to have all four doors addressed in the next month, and that includes painting not only the doors but every single quarter panel. It would be good for me to better understand what I might be in for. Also, they have discussed replacing the door as opposed to repairing them. The doors are steel. If there’s documentation that there are ongoing problems, perhaps they will move to replacing them right away.

It's the bottom of the rear passenger door on right hand side of the car

This is exactly what happened in April 2023. This photo was taken today. The black marks are just dirt. Was taken to a Ford bodyshop and when I picked it up the paint was smooth again. They must have resprayed the whole bottom of the door as the VIN code label is no longer there. You can just see a rectangular outline where it once was. To say I'm P****d off is an understatement. Ford have been making cars for over 100 years. Surely they can prepare and paint their cars correctly? Is it too much to ask?
