Hi All, got this weird issue, before I go changing tpms I thought I'd ask for suggestions:
'22 GTPE, running two sets of wheels, summers and winters. Both sets are on OEM 20 inch GTPE wheels. Both sets have oem tpms installed.
Never had an issue swapping sets, the car automatically recognizes the sensors after a short trip. Until this time.
So I put the winter set on back in early November. Sensors got recognized, worked fine.
I recently drove down south and put the summer wheels back on. The sensors did not get recognized and received tire pressure monitoring system fault.
Drove like that for about 4k miles. Tires were properly inflated so wasn't too concerned.
Returned from trip, put the winters tires back on, vehicle recognized the sensors without any issue.
So I have 4 summer wheels with oem tpms that came with the car from the factory that are no longer being recognized by the car.
My questions are:
Has anybody else has this happen to them?
What are the chances that all 4 sensors fail at the same time?
is there a way, other than driving, to 'wake' the sensors up?
Isn't the lifespan of tpms approximately 8-10 years? I don't do crazy mileage. The car is under 30K miles still.
What is the correct part number for tpms for 22 GTPE?
I should add, the wheels, when not in use, are stored in a dry but cold garage. Used to store them at ground level, but last fall I threw them into the loft above the car. Still dry but cold. Garage isn't heated.
Welcoming and grateful for your suggestions.
