800 Miles and Tire Blew Up

Hello friends,

The Michelin tire, driver side rear, on 2022 Mach E select blew up while driving at approx. 40 MPH. I was on the city street and car immediately displayed the warning and pressure dropped to zero in matter for few seconds. I was able to safely drive away from the traffic. When trying to use the repair kit I saw about a 2 inch gash on the side wall of the tire. Has anyone experienced a tire blow up on Mach E tires? The car has approx 800 miles on it. I am now worried about the quality of other 3 tires on the car.

Sounds to me like you may have run over something that damaged the tire.

Sounds like road debris. Sometimes you can't see it coming. If it was a manufacturing fault then it should be replaced under warranty. I have almost 43k miles on my set. They are holding together fine so far....

Update: Michelin honored the warranty and covered tire replacement and tow.
