Has anybody else experienced something like this?
Since the last update that fixed the charging issue noted in TSB 24-2094 I have been noticing the following intermittent issue and it happened 3-5 times.
-amber lights in the charging ring:
**conditions at the time of the amber lights error**
-a departure time is set for the day and the vehicle has completed a charge cycle to the max charge capacity of 90% and stopped successfully
-The amber light errors would seem to trigger about 30 minutes before the set departure time. Example, departure time set for 6:45am and the issues would seem to start when it was plugged in from the night before and the errors would start to surface about 6:15am when the preconditioning would usually start to condition the vehicle and the cabin.
Other items to note:
**sometimes when this happens, I would get an error on the fordpass app saying there was a charging issue but also sometimes no alert on the app. Other times the app would tell me a charge error was detechted and to unplug and plug it back in and if that doesn’t work to see the dealer for service. Sometimes I would unplug and plug it back in 6:52 am and the app would say “waiting to charge until 6:52am” and wouldn’t start charging.

A departure time of 6:45am was set like normal but the car was unplugged.
*my departure settings didn’t allow it “pre-condition cabin while unplugged”
I plugged the car in about 6:30am hoping to get it to precondition for a bit and nothing happened on the car or the app right away. I unplugged and plugged it back in and the charge ring lit up amber. I tried unplugging and re-plugging a few times and the same results happened.
I then tried to remote start it through the app and it initially tried start but it honked at me instead. Next, I got in to drive it and there was a message saying “stop safely” right away when I turned it on with a few warning lights on and it would not shift out of park. I tried turning it off and on a few times and nothing changed.
Next, I stepped away from it for about 5 minutes as I tried to figure out how to get to work. After that I tried to drive it one more time on the slim chance it would work….and it worked like it never had an issue. The “stop safely” message was away, no more lights on the dash and it shifted into gear without issue.
