I have a Select and was thinking about adding the center speaker to the dash where the B&O center speaker would typically be. Has anyone tried this? I’m wondering how involved it would be to do this. I know I’d have to buy the dash trim piece but I’m wondering what else would be needed.

For what purpose? Without the DSP in the B&O system (or an aftermarket one) and amplifier, it's not going to do anything sonically useful.

The center of the car, feels like something is missing sound wise, so I’m looking for solutions

I remember reading on the forum that some of the folks felt the B&O system sounded better without the center and people were disconnecting the center channel. See if you can find someone who did that and buy the speaker off of them.

Without the B&O system there's probably not much you can do unless you're willing to do a deep dive into this. You'd probably be missing a fair bit of hardware to make that work (I'm guessing an amp and wiring at a minimum)

If you did decide to go that route, and install all of that, you'd probably also have to reprogram the APIM using forscan to communicate with the new hardware.

Such things have been done in other Fords, but as of yet nobody has figured out configuration options in forscan for the mach e.

TL;DR. yes theoretically you could do that, but practically it would probably take WAY more time and money than it's worth

With the B&O system, if you put it in "surround" mode, it seems like all the vocals come out of the center. I hate that, so even though surround mode seems to produce more clean bass than anything I do with it off, I don't use surround mode.

So really, I don't think you're missing anything. If you're compelled to make an upgrade, I would do it with the other speakers.
