So my mechanic told me it would probably be cheaper and faster if I sourced aftermarket red calipers and had them installed in lieu of taking the existing off and sending out to powder coating and putting them back on. Does this make sense, or is he just not wanting to go to the trouble? If it does make sense, does anyone have a link to a supplier? I'm picking up my Premium with 19" wheels on Friday.

Well, definitely faster, as you can order the new calipers and just swap them when you get them. Cheaper? I dunno.

Why not just spend a few bucks on masking tape/paper, and some VHT caliper paint? That would definitely be cheaper and faster.
