Android Auto Error

Recently my car has been having issues connecting wirelessly to my phone. I get a 'Connection Failed' message on the Sync screen and sometimes I also get the error below on my phone. I'm not ready to pin this on the 1.7.1 update quite yet but I believe it at least became more frequent around the time my car got it.

I use CarPlay and after I got 1.7.1 it was super buggy and always preferencing Bluetooth over CarPlay connecting. I just removed the car from my phone, removed my phone fully from the car, both CarPlay and Bluetooth (although I think it is a single "remove phone" that does both). I then just started fresh and it works flawlessly again now. Its actually a lot more reliable when connecting CarPlay, before it would sometimes need me to get a notification or something to properly connect. Give that a try!
