Android auto not showing text messages

Anyone still having issues with AA not getting text messages? Messenger works. Microsoft Teams works. AA is up to date. I've tried deleting the phone and re-adding it again. Has all the permissions allowed. I'm at a loss right now.

I would try completely unisnstalling Android Auto from your phone. Then reinstall it and set it up again. Beyond that, we are largely at the mercy of Google and Ford.

AA in my car is janky as hell. Freezes up constantly (touch screen becomes unresponsive but only the AA section). I have to reconnect to AA at least once a drive.

So I don't think your message issues are isolated. Clearly no one at Ford's software or Google's AA divisions own a Mach-E with AA. I'd love to ride with them for a day so they can see how much time I spend not watching the road while trying to get AA to work properly. ?

Anyway, I digress. Try the app uninstall. I'm using Android Messages on a Galaxy S23 and, for the most part, I'm able to listen to and respond to SMS/RCS text messages (at least until my screen freezes) ?

Which leads me to believe that Android Auto on the Mach-E is not actually ready for prime time. It doesn't help that the processor Ford chose to power the primary UI is not the latest and greatest (or even 2021's latest and greatest). The CPU running an OS that is the driver's primary interface with the vehicle is certainly not the place to cut costs.
