Took my 2022 Mach E Select AWD on another road trip, this time from Raleigh NC to Snowshoe WV.
Not outstanding efficiency, 36 degrees or colder the whole drive and change in altitude from 495 feet to 4,848 feet.
First 135 miles, 2.5 mi/kWh, next 50, 2.2 mi/kWh (I knew I kinda sped on that leg),and final 120 miles, 2.3 mi/kWh.
Lots of Teslas up in Snowshoe; mostly Model Ys and a couple of Model Xs and Model Ss.
But I did see one other MME!

Do you have any problems with charging at Snowshoe? I am going this weekend but not sure if I'll take the Mach E or the gas car! I am thee for a couple of days and not sure if there are too many EVs for the infrastructure.

There are at least 8 J1772 L2s in the area. I was able to charge without too much issue.

2 Free ones at Silver Creek
2 Free ones in Village Parking
2 Free ones in Top of the World
and 2 Pay (Blnk) by some townhomes
There are also a couple of chargers in the underground parking for Rimfire Lodge and a couple in Corduroy Inn's parking area which I understand to be gated parking. I believe there is one L2 charger down in Cass and a number of wall plugs which I take to be 110 V, and also 1 or 2 L2 chargers in the valley at the bottom of the road going down the Silver Creek Side. And the Ford dealer in Elkins has added chargers, likewise the Ford/Chevy dealer in Moorefield.
All that said, as a new EV driver of a little less than two weeks, my concern isn't really getting to Snowshoe from NoVA, it's getting enough charge at Snowshoe to get down, and out to 'civilization' to get enough juice to get at least over to the I81 Corridor or up to Moorefield which leaves you with about 50 miles across Corridor H and then down to the Shenandoah Valley and I81. My plan is to just take a couple of leisurely trips over to Snowshoe and Canaan this summer and get a general feel for the trip in the Mach E. Understood summer and winter conditions in the WV mountains are entirely different universes and experiences. I've done the trip a gazillion times in the winter in ICE-mobiles. I could do it blind folded in an ICE. But the MME, probably not!

I believe there were a few RV plugs in the Silvercreek parking lot that you can access as well if you have your own portable charger.

My question is, have others from Northern Virginia driven their Mach Es to Snowshoe, WV, and if so, what route did you take? I have looked at ABRP in conjunction with Plug Share and the Tesla website. There are a few alternative routes, just wondering if anyone with experience driving to Snowshoe from this area with the MME has thoughts on good or bad routes. Of course, there is also the issue of charging when you get there but I know there are J1772s in a few places up there. Another alternative is, take the ICE car ... Thanks.
