Not sure on Apple upgrade or Mach E GT software upgrade.
I have check settings on both. I need help!!!!!!

I commute one hour 45 minutes away to my job locations. One best features to here your text message and response back.

what do you mean it is gone? There are several ways to active SIRI, but I personally hold the "desktop button" for a few seconds and just mention that I want to "send a message to ..." and when a message comes in you can just select it.

One thing I read is that if you turned on “Require Face ID” for Messages, it will not show up In iOS 18. Makes sense if you consider you didn’t authorize it for it to show on your screen. I haven’t had any texts since I turned mine off to test it.

I also miss the old way text messages notifications displayed on bottom of screen. Spent many an hour trying to get it back but no, just no. I now have "announce messages" turned on and when a text comes in Siri reads it. That is the alternative and not a great one if you have a passenger hearing your texts!

So glad that worked for you. I now have hopes for me seeing texts when driving.

Can you please tell me the steps to take to perform this operation?

On your iPhone, long press the Messages app. A menu should pop-up with a choice of "Don't Require Face ID". Tap that and it will turn off the need for your phone to authenticate you to show you any new text messages.

Hope that helps!

Thanks. I did that and it said the app will require Face ID or my passcode to open or show content inother apps. App content will not appear in notification previews or Spotlight. Then it gives me a choice of Require Face ID or Cancel. Do I Cancel? How will this affect it when I want to see my messages on the phone? Normally I don't do anything to see my messages. They pop up on my screen. Sorry, but I'm confused.

Then you already have it turned off. It was a new feature Apple introduced in iOS 18 and needed to be turned on. You just need to tap Cancel and it'll be just like it was before.
