Backed out of my garage, this morning, as I do every morning. Space is mildly limited, and I always get IPC orange/red warning graphics on one or both sides till I squeeze past the garage door.

Today, however, I got a message box (black with red rectangular border) in the IPC saying "Apply Brake" or "Apply Brake Now" or something like that. This happened three times as I backed out, and I think the car also applied the brake for me. No apparent reason for the new behavior, and the car was fine after leaving the garage. Been using the same garage in the same way for almost three years with the Mustang.

Is that supposed to happen? What feature causes that?

I Tetris two cars, a motorcycle and golf cart into my 2 car garage, so I've turned reverse brake assist off long ago due to necessity.

Best guess you had something slightly out of place this time that the sensors picked up as a solid obstruction and reacted differently.

This happens to me occasionally backing out of my garage. I'm guessing shadows are falling the camera...

Same thing occasionally, my garage is cement, my driveway is blacktop, there is a 2in lip between and also trees and shadows. That happens every few months, so it is some combo of those things. Usually the car slams the brakes on me, I panic assuming I hit something, my wife yells, then we moving along with our day :).
