These chargepoints at work are 6.6kW and that means it is 6.6kW for BOTH nozzles combined when they come in pairs like this. So I treat pulling in as "urinal etiquette" - i.e. never sidle up next to a neighbor when there are open stalls with a gap!!!

I wouldn't want to share because it caps me AND my neighbor to 3.3kW each yet this guy did it to me before my 3hrs free parking. *sigh*

Anyway, when in doubt whether a pedestal is shared, take an open one first, folks! Like a urinal ?

People at my office do that to me if I park too close. Park farther away and no one else wants to park by you.

Don't look at the other car's charge port when you plug in either.

My office only has one of those pedestals, so there’s always somebody sharing. But it‘s wired in a way that doesn’t drop the charging rate, so it doesn’t bother me unless they park poorly.

They all aren't shared. In fact, they come out of the box as full power to each plug. The installer has to do something special to share power. They should show on the screen if they are shared or not.

The web page to sign up for the company rate says all our chargepoints are shared 6.6kW, but next time I'll check the screen to be sure!

It is very common for sure. I am just saying they ALL aren't like that.
When we order the units and we want them to be anything different than a 5 wire service at 32A per plug then we have to order a special kit. Inside the kit are these jumper staples that we shove into the landing block so the circuit can bridge between plugs.

Then we have to make sure we tell ChargePoint home office back in Canada that we set them up that way so it will actually happen. It's kinda complicated.

The other EVSE manufacturers handle it a totally different way. Wallbox is probably the best. EnelX is pretty good too.

What's the equivalent of the guy who pulls his pants all the way down, shirt up when he pees?
