Audio issue - Highs muffled, bass greatly exaggerated

Has anyone seen this audio issue in their Mach-E? Highs become really muffled while bass gets greatly exaggerated—happened on both Android Auto and CarPlay. I think audio source didn't matter but only tried the phones.

Tried changing the equalizer, rebooting the system, and car on-off cycles, but none fixed it.
Pressing the stereo-surround button eventually resolved it.

Seems like a DSP glitch?

I found that Surround mode is better than Stereo, and I did reduce the bass in favor of more treble, to suit my taste.

It's not a true high fidelity system, but it serves my purposes.

I did the same. I actually boosted the treble a bit, added some mids, and lowered the bass. I also have an equalizer on my Android, though, so…
