All:

Over the last month or so my backup camera's picture quality has degraded to the point you see here where it is dim and out-of-focus especially around the edges. The lens is completely clean and has no visible signs of damage.

I'm curious if anyone has experienced this - I couldn't find similar problems posted on the Forum. It seems like a camera hardware issue to me, rather than a software issue. Anyone have a theory on what is happening? Moisture intrusion into the camera assembly is the only theory I can come up with.

I assume Ford will fix this under warranty since they can't possibly say this is in-spec performance. It is bordering on nonfunctional and becoming a safety issue. But we'll see....

Thanks for any insights.

Yes, likely water. I had the very same issue a couple of years ago and did post about it then but other issues were posted at the same time. It took 2 trips for service but it was confirmed as moisture and was replaced under warranty. Took nearly a week to repair as I believe it's wired all the way to the front of the car and the "coax" as it was called was also replaced. No problems since.

What year is your mach e? I will have to pay closer attention when the weather gets nicer.
