Blue raise and Cruise errors

It happened again today. I had cruise control set at 70, going along fine and then it just changed the cruise speed to 60 and started slowing. I had both hands on the wheel and nothing strange was going on with traffic. Later in the drive I again activated Cruise and this time it went immediately to Blue Cruise - I only used the cruise button. The first auto-change to cruise I described has happened several times. Thoughts?

The system is working as designed. It's meant to be a one button activation, so you can get into blue cruise easily.


The cruise button functions as both turning cruise on and pushing the "set" button at the same time. If cruise control is active and lane keep is on, BC will automatically activate. If you don't like this behavior, you can turn off lane keeping, and cruise will function without steering.

As far as automatically changing the speed - that is a feature that can be adjusted/turned off in the driver assistance settings. Personally, I find it to be extremely helpful for avoiding speed traps where they have lower speed limits in certain areas. It functions by reading speed limit signs and in some cases relying on it's own built in database of speed limit data. You can have it just follow the speed limit to a T or set an offset (for example always go 5mph over whatever is posted). That being said, it doesn't always get it right. Sometimes it gets the speed limit wrong. If that is the case on a route you drive regularly you can always turn that feature off entirely.
