Have the people complaining about the steering wheel vibrating with the lane keep warning turned on tried staying in between the lines that are painted on the road, just a question.
Or use the turn signal when changing lanes. Vibration is gone when using signal. Some however don't believe in signaling.
Wow you two are smug.

Have you ever heard of road construction? The road my house is on has been under construction for years. If I kept lane keeping on it would actively try and pull me into other cars.

If this update doesn’t both you, then kindly go away.

If any snark is detected, please be assured none was intended:

This seems like boycotting McDonald's when they take away the McRib. I don't think it will accomplish much other than making you happy. If that's all you're after, then you win!

BTW: The McRib is back! ;)

Too late for me. It installed tonight. ?
Now my mirror don’t fold and unfold, alarm system keep asking me questions, and when I started the car AM radio was blasting. But the damn car thing is STILL in the middle of the instrument cluster, I can STILL see the speed.
BUT, I still don’t have audio info on the instrument cluster.

It doesn’t remove them, it just changes the behavior so it only shows the message when you get close to a turn. This is actually an old update, I had it on my 2022 J2.
You're right, I just tested again. It shows up on IPC when close to turn.

I am also not happy about the change of display screen. I got the 6.8.0 update last night and although it supposed to deal with the frunk chime, my speed display in the center has been replaced with an overhead view of the car. Very annoying. Does anyone know how to get it back? Is there a fix for this and is Ford aware of the bug? Automatic updates are great - saves you from a trip to the dealer and lets Ford do some fine tuning as they learn along the way. Just don't roll out an update that changes other things and is not fully ready. Not cool.

Had no choice, on the OTA train. 6.8 installed today. Interesting the notes from my install are different

I know it sounds absurd but I mostly agree with the reason behind the boycott. It just screams bad programming and protocols to me. Do they not live/dogfood their changes? Do they not gather internal feedback because external customers can’t be the only ones that don’t like this change.
Ironically when I first took delivery of my car and they asked me the #1 reason I chose it, I said the instrument dashboard because the Tesla didn’t have that and I don’t want to look to the right on the middle screen to see my speed and other vital information. The car icon does nothing for me and now my right arm (which I apparently keep dangling over the steering wheel most of the time, I have just discovered) is covering up my speed. ?

What a week it has been. It started out with the excitement of my car's OTA train starting up leading to BC 1.3. But ended with me lamenting the future loss of the driver experience that has defined my interaction with my car for nearly three years. Yes, I am talking about losing the center speedometer and efficiency animations to be replaced by the, frankly ugly, driving assistance bubble that I absolutely detest and avoid. The MachE has always looked best in the evening and driving home in the dark tonight, I have seriously come to the conclusion that I think I will disable OTA's after 6.7. Yes, the existing experience is worth more to me than BC 1.3, and I have already ordered the 3 year extension (now with regret).

And so I got to thinking about how my silent protest might play out. I can refuse all future CSP's. I can refuse to allow a technician to do anything that requires a data connection. Tires, wipers, air filter, windshield; check, change those at will. I can refuse to have mandatory recalls with software updates completed.

<PAUSE/>

Oh wait, there is a legitimate safety recall on the HVBJB that includes a software update. Just how likely is it that update will be compatible with any random version of software on the car? Just how likely is that to be the case for the next 5, 7, 10 years for any recall? If I have the recall performed, just how likely is my car going to come back with the very update I do not want, to get the one I need? If Ford is required to fix these cars, how does that play out for them (rhetorical, I know the answer based upon a Prius recall I refused to have done)? But that does not mean it is right. Wouldn't it be great if NHTSA made them fix my car and return it to me in the same configuration that I took it in with? One can dream...

So to @Ford Motor Company, I just want to say thank you for taking what has been a great experience for nearly 3 years and turning it into something quite the opposite. Thanks for doing something that was completely unnecessary or only necessary because it was likely cheaper and simpler for someone to implement.

And to the rest of the forum, I also want to say thank you. Thank you for letting me know about this before I had no choice. And thank you for giving me an option, at least for a little while.
I did not know about this and was sick to my stomach when I got in my MME today and saw the ugly screen. The workaround used to be to turn off the adaptive cruise control and driver assist features. I don’t like the MPH way on the right and the stupid icon of the car in the middle. And it’s hard for me to see the percentage and loved the bar. How hard can it be to give us the option back?? And stop jacking with things that were good the way they were! I agree - it’s a nightmare to think I don’t know what will happen to my car after an update. Bad enough dealing with “change for the sake of change” on my iPhone!

You wait and see if Ford ever decides to change it. I don't recommend holding your breath while you wait. I've been waiting to get the useful tiles back for a while now.
I'm still waiting for them to bring back the "favorite device" feature that helped to guarantee that the driver's phone is connected for Carplay. Every single time I drive with my wife, her phone's Carplay is connected (no matter who is driving).

Also patiently waiting for them to bring back trip logs, which I think are still missing from FordPass.

That would be nice. Every time I drive with my son, Carplay defaults to his phone - drives me crazy.
